OKAY!! Put the gun down! I paid your price!

1. I have completed a rigorous degree and graduated with honours. It’s a testament to how driven and dedicated I can be when I put my mind to things.
2. I think I have cute handwriting.
3. I am told I have pretty eyes, and I’m inclined to agree.
4. I’m responsible, especially when it comes to my finances!! (despite my wallet based adventures)
5. I can be shy, but I’ve been getting better at not letting that get in the way of interacting with people. I’ve met such wonderful people here because I’m willing to interact more than I was previously.

6. I am good at (some) video games.
7. I’m getting better at reaching out when I need help. I used to run away and isolate myself, but I’ve learned it’s okay to lean on those close to me sometimes.
8. I am open and willing to share a lot about myself — within reason. When people are curious about my dynamics or things about me, I love to answer questions and share about myself.
9. I’d like to think I’m a warm, friendly presence.
10. I make really good coffee for myself every morning.

I'm sorry for getting smart with you. I know that my place is firmly at the bottom of the food chain, so far down that I'm lucky to even interact with you at all. The shifting that happens above me should be none of my concern; it doesn't give me ANY right to throw a jab or teasing comment. I'd like to say I'm sorry, for even thinking that you and I are close at all. It is easy for me to see superiority in you, I don't need to look long or hard, because you are oozing with it. I'm blessed to even be in your presence and should be even more thankful that you're gifting me with the opportunity to apologize. I know that these paltry words aren't going to be enough to make it up to you -- I would write a blank cheque if I could.

There is a reason I feel my breath hitch and hair stand on end when you like my posts or interact with me. It's because I know, deep down, that you are better than me. Let’s ensure everyone knows what this is about from the first couple sentences. Malice, I’m sorry.

I will never forget the pit in my stomach I feel when I think I may have transgressed against you. When you threatened to block me, when you so expertly interrogated me for my failings, all of them feel like they were yesterday. It’s not often in my life I come across someone who radiates such a genuine, unfiltered aura of superiority. You could ask those closest to me, of the times I panicked and squeaked whenever you show up in my notifications. It’s like I am being graced by the heavens, a close eye watching my every move and watching, waiting for me to slip up.

If I am ever so lucky to be acknowledged in the same breath as you, it’s clear to anyone watching that you are above me. In every way, shape, and form. We are not even fit to compare. You are on a level so far above me that it would be harmful for me to think I could achieve a tenth of what you are worth.

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry for inferring you might waste your time on me. I’m sorry for even speaking to you. I’m sorry for taking up space in your life, even if it exists only as a small number inside a little blue dot, as pixels on a screen clogging up your feed from more important people. I’m sorry.
