The sad truth with SwiftUI is that there will be bugs that straight up prevent you from making a "mac-assed" app possible Here the "Hide Toolbar" option won't persist at all after a re-render. It will just reappear FB25202882 #SwiftUI

recently i've been using more mac apps with "Hide Toolbar" turned on and the amount of screen space i save makes everything seem so much calmer

mail, hackit, finder, and preview windows shown on screen with Hide Toolbar turned on

The new Sidebar toolbar item in the Fork git client is really nonsensical, and doesn't even include a toolbar item label which makes it look like a mistake. I don't know who asked for vertical tabs. If only I could customize the toolbar to remove it but I can’t.

like, if you wanted a graphical irc client, a simple web browser with image support, and a text editor, then emacs with erc and eww will probably be less memory than (some text editor) + (some irc client) + (netsurf or dillo)

one day, you'll activate Mission Control on your Mac, and every open application will be a split-view, white-background, single-window app. you'll never be able to find what you're looking for I think most apps now treat the titlebar as their only source of identity.
