If you think the courts will stop Trump, you have not been paying attention. The judicial branch relies on the executive branch for enforcement of its decisions—Trump runs the executive branch. Congress will not impeach Trump. There is no governmental check on Trump's power.

The Republican Congress won't impeach Trump. The judiciary has no enforcement power. Only we the people can hold Trump accountable, and that means ousting him and his corrupt, authoritarian regime from power through massive sustained civil disobedience (esp. general strike).

I see authoritarianism as a spectrum from Orbán to Putin to Stalin. Trump started at the Orbán stage, but he’s racing toward the Putin stage, and I fear he will ultimately reach the Stalin stage. The signs are growing clearer, and the danger is very real.

Either Trump truly believes that foreign countries pay tariffs—which they do not, importing companies pay tariffs and pass those costs onto their customers—or Trump is simply lying. Is Trump misinformed or willfully deceitful about how tariffs work? Either way, we are so screwed.
