$25 at Barnes & Noble? No way I can resist picking this up. I look forward to setting it up and then abandoning it after a turn or two, which is the proper way to play Axis and Allies, right?

Nothing clever or funny to say today, so here's the cover of my forthcoming book. It's a collection of horror/sci-fi short stories and I am working like gangbusters to make an October release.

Watched Avengers Endgame Encore last night. Hadn't seen it in a while. It was great, and such a wonderful finale for several characters. I just feel like it should have been left alone. Very wary about Doomsday.

Trying to decide if I want to squeeze in Infinity War again before Endgame in the theater on Sunday evening. We're busy tonight and I'm already dragging my wife to Destroy All Monsters at the theater tomorrow. I should have just taken a sick day today for this I guess.

Co-worker had this old Krunchers box in her room. I gushed over it, probably too much, and she gave it to me. I love Krunchers, hard to find here now. So... what do I do with this? Flatten it out and frame it? LOL

Watched the 40th TF: TM tonight. Very emotional during the preshow dedication to Cullen. The movie is a pretty mess as always. The post movie animation was odd but I suppose a proper sendoff.

I agree with @michaelmay.bsky.social that this is a 5 star film. I love everything about it. Gillman is my favorite Universal monster and just below Godzilla in my overall monster ranking. Movie is probably a top 10 all timer for me. 50s aesthetic is the best imo @shawnrobare.com @paxholley.com

When we have a new seating chart in class, I let my students write me a note with requests to move. Here's one I got today: "Dear Mr. Allie, I would like to be moved from X and Y. X is loud and annoying, and Y keeps farting and honestly I think it's giving me pinkeye. So please move me."

Just realized I took zero pictures this past weekend at the Warhammer tournament. It was a teams event and due mainly to my partner's skill, we won every game and got 2nd place! It was a fun time.

Watched Practical Magic 2 last night. It was a decent enough film, with several heartfelt moments, just as in the original. I did find it distracting that the younger actors had more lines on their face than the smooth plastic look of Bullock and Kidman as of late.

Today we remember Pigmon, who was popular among girls, who passed away on this day 60 years ago.

An image of a red big mouthed monster known as Pigmon from Ultraman who has passed away. The on screen text reads September 4, 1966, Pigmon, who was popular with girls, died.

Saw The Wallflowers in concert last night. It was a good show. They played the entire tracklist for Bringing Down the Horse, which meant that their best song was first which was odd. Then they followed it up by playing an entire Tom Petty album. Somehow it all worked.

This cardboard standee of Dolly Parton was in the closet in my new classroom. She's holding a book, one of the millions she sent free of cost to kids everywhere. After news came of her passing, Dolly has been moved to the hallway, honoring an irreplaceable hero who has meant so much to so many.
