This is a character I created for an upcoming project. This is an initial design I was iterating on, but I thought it'd be really cool to enter into this month's #vgenchallenge with this portrait of her since the theme of this month is wings! #digitalpainting #illustration #portraitpainting

Creative Process pt 6 - With the concept settled it's time to polish it up to something more presentable. The entire art process is in the replies. #art #draft #sketch #artprocess #creativeprocess #lightning #finalfantasy

A pencil sketch of Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. She's in a battle pose where she's holding a sword above her head, pointing forward.

Creative Process pt 5 - Ever look at something and feel it's missing something? That was me x4 when looking at the other drafts. I made one more and made something I really like. Let's use this one. #art #draft #sketch #artprocess #creativeprocess #lightning #finalfantasy

Creative Process pt 4 - This final draft features the famous face angle. Overall, the goal of making 4 varied drafts was met. At this point I'll choose one and continue. #art #draft #sketch #artprocess #creativeprocess #lightning #finalfantasy

Creative Process pt 3 - I thought about something more dynamic but decided against it as I'd like to keep this as a simple portrait of lightning. The sketch + paint is unpolished as this took ~20 min. #art #draft #sketch #artprocess #creativeprocess #lightning #finalfantasy

Creative Process pt 2 - Here's another draft of the same idea. I like it more then the previous one, but both are static. I'll explore more dynamic poses for future drafts. #art #draft #sketch #artprocess #creativeprocess #lightning #finalfantasy

Sometimes I'm asked about what the creative process looks like. It looks like this: basic, messy, and raw, all done in < 1hr. But this how it all starts, with multiple of these before something is worth polishing. #art #draft #sketch #artprocess #creativeprocess #lightning #finalfantasy
