The story falls into shonen tropes that are baiting for a serialization, this decision writes off the manga's namesake, Shijima, in an extremely disatisfying way. I believe if this manga was self contained and didn't have such a stereotypical open ended ending, it would've made a better impression.

Horikoshi's newest one shot Quit Laughing Shijima is a beautifully drawn supernatural horror/romance manga. The mystery and disordered way that information is presented to the reader kept me hooked. Despite great world building and endearing characters, this story didnt stick it's landing. (1/2)
