A lot of study still needs to be done outside of anki with immersion whether it's books or shows or podcasts so I'd say just find something you like that you can start to understand after a while of doing anki + grammar practices. Your main learning will likely come from that exposure

Unfortunately don't have anything for motuvation. I'm just quite motivated by the process itself

Duolingo has always sucked. In the past it was more just a bad learning tool but now it's a bad learning tool that also morally sucks. Can't blame you for using it, I used to as well, but wow the pastures can be and are so much greener

my relationship with anki is truly toxic yuri

nothhng is more satisfying than trudging through anki cards and finally remembering that one word that keeps tripping you up. happens literally every day

I just use anki decks and renshuu to learn alongside standard language immersion to learn! I've also heard good things about the genki work/text books and plan on picking them up for more grammar study ankiweb.net/shared/info/...

might as well try learning it then!! always fun to learn alongside others even if indirectly. It does take a lot of dedication though, as learning most languages does

110

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 18/08/2026

in reality I just think it's a really challenging language to learn and I want to prove to myself that I can still actually learn and retain things. The main draw is the challenge, it's completely different than english but still retaining quite a lot of easily accessible media for learning.

110

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 18/08/2026

straight up love bullet twinning. I need to learn more japanese just so that i can read love bullet as soon as possible. as is the most sane reason for learning a language.

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 18/08/2026

I got lucky and found one from a manga shop in chicago that i'm pretty sure imported it. They had quite a lot of love bullet merch and I bought two keychains from them as well. AND a sticker that I still haven't put on anything due to choice paralysis :D

VTuber I was looking forward to watching debut disappeared off the face of the internet out of nowhere really close to their debut :(

130

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 14/08/2026

also, benefit of doubt that twitch doesn't actually like many of these changes! it seems more like they're being forced by amazon! except for the raid boss thing, that one just stinks. yea that's just a misplay.

130

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 14/08/2026

twitch is making a bunch of bad decisions but when I see people jump ship to youtube I just have to question why??? it's been making shitty changes for longer, and is an infinitely worse chatter experience. Say what you will about twitch, lots I'll agree with, but their chatter experience is great.

I know y'all have seen this reposted a lot today, but an additional note for fellow streamers: Make sure you disable this on your bot accounts. I have a second twitch account just for streamerbot messages, and had to opt out on that on that, too.

I have a lot of mixitup stuff set up which is basically node programming. Shockingly efficient for lots of things, the godot stuff is specifically for automated redeems that show things up on my screen. Not just as an overlay for the stream but also my own monitor.

110

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 07/08/2026

i forgot alt text! oops! it's simply just an image containing two tabs, repositories and changes. Repositories contains twitch-greenhe... while changes contains many updated, modified, and deleted files such as cursor dot tscn, hammer dot gd, machinegun dot gd. Many more that go over char limit too.

010

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 07/08/2026

IKR???? I'm not trying to spoil my upcoming redeem but like. 65 files changed. for this one thing. i reworked the stuff i JUST MADE so that I can easier add stuff on.

210

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 07/08/2026

I have endeavour on my laptop from the ancient times and I do really enjoy modifying it to my liking. Same with the steam machine, however it's just inconvenient to daily drive with all the shit I do. windows is just unfortunately way easier for my workflow.

110

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 07/08/2026

stuff like organizing my OBS better as it grows, adding a queue system to my greenheat stuff so that they go sequentially instead of all at once, working on even more greenheat stuff that won't be done for a while, remapping my stream deck, etc.

120

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 07/08/2026

i think im addicted to just constantly fixing stream stuff behind the scenes. there's genuinely so much stuff I work on that will never get noticed.

260

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 04/08/2026

I've really enjoyed making silly little overlays lately. That weird programming stream was shockingly enjoyable. I <3 greenheat.

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 30/07/2026

let me model for the brand. I'll compress the shirts to hell and back and shittily throw it over my vtuber model. and my chat is sure to be the right audience.

110

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 21/07/2026

the endless sea of twitch and youtube algorithms make it impossible to find someone that I can simply listen to and attempt to pick up words from. I just want to learn :(

010

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 21/07/2026

I was browsing twitch trying to find a JP art streamer I could listen to for practice but every single one of them has a twitter linked... it's more common than youtube... does anyone have a primarily JP speaking content creator (YT/Twitch) they like?

Please stop using Twitter I promise you that your engagement there is not authentic viewership. Statistically, it has been proven to be as much as 70% bot interactions. I am sorry for sharing something kind of upsetting but it genuinely frustrates me to see people glaze over when I say this stuff

this starting soon screen is so pretty!!! not a waste of an afternoon at all!

110

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 14/07/2026

There's def some games that don't work well but I'm much more open to try more games now. Not everything needs to become a series or be the world's most entertaining game to watch.

010

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 14/07/2026

Playing Thief on a whim made me realize that I uh. Enjoy playing games, even new ones where I know nothing and where the gameplay may be slow. It's a little less entertaining but I've always had the mindset that I want viewers that show up for me and not the games I play.

120

Maple🟧🧡 @mapleatmorning.com · 14/07/2026

I think I've finally started to free myself from only streaming what I classify as "stream games" I used to only stream games that I think have the opportunity to have really funny moments or games that I personally know well. Shadows of Doubt, Dying Light, etc.
