i do not associate with ynoproject anymore. i do not tolerate transphobia/homophobia. its extremely disappointing to see a community so passionate get completely thrown away over people who are genuinely dangerous. i have asked for removal of my emotes, and i do not plan on rejoining yno

there has just been so much shit with ynoproject over the years and im tired of the yume nikki fangame community being so closely tied to it. people find the games through it, the admins run all of the related discord servers and i even heard they are running dream diary jam this year. its fucked up

This is NacreMoon, one of the leaders of Collective Unconscious. This isn’t a CU official response or something, this is what I want to say. I don’t feel right continuing to keep quiet. Screenshots of notes because I can’t truncate my thoughts and feelings.

I was told about the grooming situation (after the fact) with a very biased recounting of events, asked to defend Hyo if it ever got out, and I fully believe my demotion by the YNO admins on CU was at least partially due to me eventually confronting Hyo in DMs and telling him that I didn’t think he took proper responsibility.

I believe this because, during the conversation when Somnium told me about my demotion, he berated me for accusing Hyo of not taking enough responsibility.

I was told Hyo did not try to intervene with the victim because he was worried for her mental health and her being suicidal, and even while I felt empathetic that it could be a difficult situation to be in and cause one to make poor judgements, I still thought it was not the correct decision. Eventually the flippant treatment of the situation, such as Hyo calling the victim “mentally unhinged” and claiming that she just had a grudge against him, and the focus on *him* as an equal or even greater victim weighed on me.

There are additional ways the YNO admins and their friends treated me, including when I visited a few of them irl, that have grievously affected my own mental health for the past months. Some of my close friends have heard about these, and I did not realize until long after that it was pretty serious. They have a way with making you think every issue is your fault and that you deserve poor treatment. I buried all my misgivings because I was convinced they were good and admirable people and so I must be the problem.

I haven’t spoken publicly about this until now because I was afraid of even more retaliation from YNO with CU being in an already fragile state (and tbh afraid of them in general), but I am tired of walking on eggshells and avoiding upsetting people who have done so much harm in this community. I’m sorry for my silence until now; I’m honestly disgusted with myself for ever being friends with the YNO admins. Sam’s transphobia is just another thing they’ve tried to downplay and bury.

Explaining changed nothing though, no second chance, no warning, nothing. It all seemed really odd. Shortly after the whole CU drama happened where it was confirmed that the real reason for this was really just to take us both out of the picture because we were aware of the grooming situation lol

They made it out like the password sharing was the worst a mod could do while there was never a rule about this.Yuga himself had shared his account with me in the past before I became a mod, obviously making it seem like it’s not a big deal, especially with a highly trusted person like a partner.

Yeah it was insane. While the situation they used as a reason to demote me wasn’t okay they went silent about it for months, then out of nowhere banned Xen from the servers and I was told I was being demoted for this very reason.

Happy 2nd anniversary to Collective Unconscious! The love and passion our devs and community have for this project cannot be overstated. Things are still very WIP on the new version 1.0.0 and website, but rest assured, we haven't given up on #collectiveunconscious

Happy 2 year anniversary. It's been a turbulent year, but we're still working hard on Collective Unconscious version 1.0.0 and the new website. Thank you to all the amazing developers, contributors, and players who have stuck by us. We're looking forward to the future of the spirit realm, and we hope you all are, too.
