Please don't do this to pit toilets at the park. Parks are one of the few places where people can still get away from politics. Plus, speaking as a park ranger, every single park ranger I know 100% agrees with the sentiment.... But guess who ends up having to peel it off.

Given the recent claims by the regime that being anti-ICE is equivalent to domestic terrorism, I think it's time to post this image again from CPAC 2022. I'm starting to think they might not actually know what domestic terrorism is.

Saw some fun wildlife out on the water today to cap off a great vacation. First time seeing dolphins and manatees!

Call me crazy but it seems this 22 year old guy maybe isn't doing a great job preventing terrorism.

A powerful read. Coates did a wonderful job of shining a light on what it truly means to be a black man in America. The daily struggle that is the direct result of our failures as a society to address the evils of our past. #booksky

Wow, he must have said some very inappropriate and vulgar things!.... .... Wait, that's all he said and they cancelled him for it?
Kimmel said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, “We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it.”

"Officials said there was no evidence of foul play." Bullshit. The police are complicit just as they were back in the heyday of lynching. MAGA just itching for it to come back into vogue to pose with the victims' bodies. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Just finished this fun and enlightening read, "Dinner with King Tut". Kean did a great job of highlighting that ancient people were just that, people. Just as capable, intelligent and fallible as we are. Highly recommend! #BookSky

Just finished reading Elie Wiesel's "Night". What a powerful book that is almost scarier in the context of our current political landscape. "The Germans were already in our town, the Fascists were already in power, the verdict was already out—and the Jews of Sighet were still smiling."

Hiking, hot springs and solitude on the Western Slope. A perfect long weekend back in my old stomping crowds where I got my start working on parks.
A huge pillar-like mountain roses above a pine forest with a dirt road winding through a meadow in the foreground. A cow can be seen crossing at the far end of the meadow. The Milky Way rises above a pillar-like mountain with dark shapes of pine trees set against a field of starsThe view from atop a 12,000ft peak looking out over a valley thousands of feet below.A hand holding a large can of beer with a book nearby. The background is alpenglow on the ridgeline as the last light of day shines on the peaks.

Leaving in the morning to backpack in the mountains for a few days. Nothing but walking, fishing and photography, miles away from the nearest human. Could only be made better if I came back to good news.

My pups in absolute heaven at the dog park.
A small black dog and medium-sized apricot-colored dog are seen walking away from the camera along a dirt path. A large earthen-and-concrete dam looks in the background. Behind that: mountains covered in a smoky haze.

I am so sick of living on the precipice Every day a brave face, pretend we're good with all of this. Some day soon the frogs will boil Wreck us all, a nation in turmoil They say a house divided cannot stand Yet we're a stack of splinters held together by a strand. We will break, unless we stand.

Thinking about the time I got trapped above treeline as a hailstorm rolled through because a moose moved next to the only trail while I was up there.

Saw a large, ring-shaped object in the sky the other evening before any stars came out. Larger than any planets I've seen and seemed mostly still but then disappeared to the west over the next 15 minutes. ISS or UAP? Any ideas?

Campfire cooking and starry nights. Does it get much better?
Chili containing beef, mushrooms, onion, red and green peppers, black beans and tomatoes cooking over the coals of a campfire in a cast iron skillet. Tongs rest on the edge of the skillet. A stone ring encircles the fire pit with a forest in the background.A metal bowl of yellow squash, mushrooms and onion rests on a rock next to a metal plate with two elk steaks. On the other side of the rock are hot coals from a fire with a baked potato wrapped in foil. Logs are stacked over the coals but not yet burning.A long exposure of Dave sitting next to a campfire in the dark. Streaks from sparks rise from the fire and a soft glow is cast on nearby trees. A lantern sits dimly near a tree on the right. A handful of stars are visible through the tree tops.

Veggie box is coming along wonderfully, and my flower garden is really starting to pop off! Love my little oasis I've curated.
Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and strawberries grow in a raised planter box. An L-shaped garden with a bird-bath in the corner, centered around a clump of Aspen trees. Flowers blooming, left-to-right: Rocky Mountain Penstemon, Blue Grama grass, Switchgrass, Yellow Columbines, White Yarrow, Blue Flax and more penstemons.

Does a tyrant need to hit every bullet point that upset our founding fathers before We The People take action? The regime is blitzing through the list of grievances and were STILL being told that we're overreacting when, frankly, we've all been UNDERreacting. www.britannica.com/topic/Declar...
