GM Disappointed because I wanted to share some art but BlueSky won't let me upload anything larger than 976kb and resizes things I compress to be smaller than that. So, I guess no art. How very frustrating. I hope this is a bug that will be fixed!

This is really cool! Has a high-school textbook infographic vibe (but much more interesting!).

Well, not sure why it put markdown with illustrata's link! Bluesky is being kind of buggy today. Oh well, glad I got to finally post images!

GM and Happy Friday! Do you have any notable plans for the weekend? I need to work on an oil painting in progress for a class I'm taking and want to get some hanging fuchsia baskets for my patio.

This was a challenge since my work is pretty or whimsical. But I got interesting results from dimensional & surreal piece blends. The last one just made me laugh. He looks so unhappy with his flowers & curly locks! @[illustrata.bsky.social](http://illustrata.bsky.social/) might want to play too!

I made some but BlueSky keeps giving me internal server errors trying to post them! Tried from my desktop and phone. Will try again later. Disappointed because I wanted to share!

I had the same thought when I saw this earlier! Wouldn't it be nice to have a social media site that was focused on sharing art and connecting artists and collectors?

At least the picture on the right is of cubicles which gave some visual privacy: removed by the horrid "open office plans" like 15 years ago. Now with forced return to the office, they demand people rotate (reserve for the day) desks & you rub elbows with your coworkers trying to type. Dehumanizing!

If only we had bookmarks so I can save this post to potentially play with later! Any ETA for bookmarks?

I hope you are right. Twitter is such a difficult place for artists and collectors to connect. The algo makes it all a popularity contest and difficult to get your work seen outside your "bubble" (which for many artists is just other artists). I hope that there's a better way here.

Weird, the image attachments seem to be cropping things in odd ways. Hopefully that is a bug that will be fixed.

Twitter is broken in so many ways. But all the communities I want to be a part of are still on Twitter and everyone is used to how Twitter works. BlueSky is has potential for the place that my communities can migrate to. And the idea of having servers for common interests is also pretty attractive.

Is there documentation anywhere on how to set up a server? I am very interested in this but can't find information on it.

I want to connect to people based on common interests and out from underneath the biased algorithm on Twitter. Want to figure out the whole "federated server" aspect of this to be a part of and help foster more topic-focused groups.

I want to introduce myself, rarely do you get a chance for first impressions. I'm Chris aka Democratese, I want to thank @manekineko.bsky.social for getting me here. I make macabre and mostly otherworldly works because that's me. I love being taken away into a new world. Nice to meet you all.
