Donned my apron and made a date and walnut loaf cake (foraged walnuts) - nice with a bit of Wensleydale cheese🧀 😁 Pitting dates is a bit laborious but worth the effort. I use a recipe from my late grandmother’s Be-Ro book ♥️ Also made a salmon, broccoli & cheese bake. 3 ready meals for me 🙌 #baking

Just about managed to dodge the rain here in York.

Just picked what was left on my tomato plants. Will ripen them indoors. Temperatures are a bit low outside for them now. I will have to try and find time this week to empty/clean the large pots they have been grown in. 🍅🍅

Hard to believe it is two years ago today when we were up in Saltaire on a short break. We had been to see Jon Boden &The Remnant Kings. Ann and I enjoyed exploring the area (and its cafes!) the following day. Beautiful place to be 🥰

Looking forward to seeing the fab Sam Carter perform again in York this evening with @anniehornerglis.bsky.social We have seen Sam solo in Lincoln, with The Magpie Arc in Doncaster and with Peter’s Field in Sheffield. Will be good to listen to him singing the songs of Nic Jones.

What a magnificent work of art - it’s huge! It is blocking the way to my garden storage bin. Haven’t the heart to destroy the orb spider’s hard work - he is doing/has done a great job! An important part of my garden ecosystem… There’s a fair few around but this is by far the biggest 🕸️

Ha! That made me smile. Music workshop the other side of town so got the bus halfway. Had a £2 coin to pay my fare - driver had no change and told me to just go sit down.When i got off, I offered to pay by card but he said, “get on your way love,- no worries.” Guess I was his good deed of the day 😁😂

Fungi party this morning :-)

A sky that was full of Swifts and hirundines only a short time ago is now full of geese. As I was stood watching/listening, the neighbourhood crows alerted me ( with that distinct mobbing call) to a raptor. Sure enough, a Common Buzzard appeared and was seen swiftly on its way by the corvids.

This is a really good, doable and easy thing to stick to. My little case packed ( 2 weeks until hol but organised ha!) Gone are the days of taking a big suitcase/queuing to check it in/waiting at t’other end. Hand luggage only. Much less hassle 🙌

What a dreadful night. Felt quite unwell yesterday. At 1am this morning I was not feeling well at all and had to call myself an ambulance. Ambulance took two hours to arrive ( that waiting felt like an eternity 🥺) and then a half hour journey to A&E where I spent another 4 hours. No cubicles…
