Disappointingly, the BBC lost my trust long ago and has since validated that view more and more, over and over again. It's too late now; like a fatally broken relationship, they can't get that trust back.

It's stressful Mary. Hard to compare like for like, each company has A. different aspects of cover + B. different compulsory/voluntary excesses. I write a list of what quote 1 offers for A + B, then compare other quotes to that. AA were best this year! A call to your provider can 🤞 bring £ down too.

I've think the Santa story is like a catch them young gateway drug for the class A drug of religion. Children are told there's a bearded man who invisibly watches them and knows everything, judges whether they are naughty or nice and if they deserve a reward. Don't question it to keep hope of gifts.

💯% agreed, and they brought us the PPE VIP lane, Owen Paterson's lobbying, Chris Pincher’s conduct, Liz Truss’s Mini-Budget, Nadhim Zahawi's tax affairs, and Russia-linked party donations and influence... More corruption, cover-up and incompetence than you can shake a stick at… Lest we forget.

Agreed. I wrote to my Lib MP in 2010 in favour of this; they were kingmakers. I understood the seat nos. pointed to a Lib/Con choice and a Lib/Lab/3rd-party coalition was complex. Shockingly, they ignored me! Their choice then seemed to be opportunistic rather than about policy/values. Disappointing

It's so disheartening Oliver; for this and because it fits into a 'they're ALLOWED to get away with it' set. E.G. tRump, Netanyahu, Johnson, Farage et al. We need to better understand how and why this happens. I've a different authoritarian set (Putin etc.) whose control via power/fear is overt.

My mistake, you are showing the Accession Council incident. 10.9.22. The 2nd incident was signing a visitors' book on 13.9.26 with the wrong date. He said, "Oh god I hate this pen!" It's a "bloody thing" that leaks "every stinking time". Both displays looked like an entitled 3-yr-old temper tantrum.

...and he was on public view, in front of TV cameras. He displayed the same behaviour 3 days before, over a pen holder, also in front of cameras, during an historic moment at the Accession Council. If he can't control himself under these circumstances, I wonder what he's like when no one is filming.

Of course, each country has to negotiate their own deal. Those of us who were/are desperately against Brexit are not assuming anything but the concept of an associate category of membership gives us hope that something new might be negotiated which finds a way through the culture of divisiveness.

I'm hoping the concept of being an associate member of the EU will be a workaround for Burnham. It could be a Brexit get-out clause that's far better than stagnating, as we are now. Potentially a huge gift from the EU to the UK that we don't really deserve but desperately need to grab.

Those two are under the bus so Farage can say, "Nothing illegal happened, but I didn't know anything about whatever it was that didn't happen. Anyway, it was a hoax and/or entrapment; WE will investigate how they were able to set us up by filming what was said." So that's all O.K. then, carry on.

Definitely. I think that one of the few good things that has come out of Trump2 (an unintended consequence of his) is that it has become clearer who the enemies of these values are and who the friends are. I just hope people (esp. those in power) are taking notice and making decisions accordingly.

People in the U.K. need to be warned about Milo Yiannopoulos. He's a nasty piece of work who shines a light on his revolting views for attention and, presumably, for £/$. He has been deported from U.S. to U.K. so I've no doubt our MSM will give him a platform and he'll home in on Farage/Lowe et al.
