It was a “war of annihilation” (their words) and they lost. Jews had won their land and under international law, legally declared the formation of Israel. 100

The Arabs called themselves “Arabs” because they identified with the pan-Arab empire. Modern Palestinian identity was invention by the KGB in the 1960s. 200
