You know what's crazy? If you made this sort of detached case about whether this or that element of messaging of a democratic campaign in the past 10 years (you pick literally any) was going to resonate with voters, people would just call you a wrecker. But since it's about the progressive it's fine

Ok, but voters are emotional human creatures. El-Sayed's campaign seems largely focused on issues that aren't really specific to Michigan. People seem to forget that Stevens was a big part of the auto industry bailout & that's likely seen as a positive by 1 million in MI who work as part of it.

I think if a democratic constituent of a given seat notices the incumbent of that seat is anywhere in this region of the graph they have a solid enough case to want them primaried for someone who might be outside this region and it would be a waste of time to try and argue them otherwise
