i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid
Traducir post

photo of model posing as an elegant elf woman that ive blocked out with a chunky red brush

in a separate window ive redrawn the red blocks, then have drawn details over the red blocks, using the photo+red transparency as reference

final doodle of the figure drawing without the red blocking

Some concept nightmare environments for 3 of my player's characters. One didn't have their personal nightmare and the other had a featurless black void so. Kamille's Nightmare, Yoshito's Nightmare, and Max's nightmare. #ttrpg #dnd5e #nightmare #art #bloodborne #inspired

Upside-down skyscraper stretching downwards with a pirate ship piercing through it.

2nd: A KaraTurian style tower on a tiny sand island, suspended in the middle of a black, endless pit. All this on a vast, featureless desert.

3rd: Weird "from below" perspective of numerous gallows in the middle of a city plaza. On a red sky, a huge black moon, sliced in half, bleeds its black tar-like liquid into the shape of a distant cathedral.

I came across an outdated guide on image grid sizing crop/proportions for bsky earlier, and I felt it was important to create an updated version! Please use this new guide instead!

Up-to-date BlueSky Crop Aspect Ratio
Crop Sizes for Bluesky as of 18 Oct 2024

By default, single images are uncropped. If image is too tall (Exceeds the 1:2 aspect ratio) then it will be cropped. Single images that are too tall may be scaled down but aspect ratio is preserved

With two images, both of them share a square aspect ratio of 1:1

For three images, the first image is square (1:1) while the other two are half-squares (2:1)

And for 4 images, all of them are 3:2

For those wondering: If you have “Invalid handle” showing up on your account do not worry! 1) Wait & it might clear up on its own (massive traffic must be having an impact on the app) or, if that fails, 2) Go to Settings > Change my handle > Re-type your current handle > Verify DNS record > Update

A screenshot explaining the same thing by the Bluesky app
