Tuesday launch day will be great no matter the crowd size because the absolute worst case scenario is you & me hanging out with *beverages* 😁

Rip Torn as Max the Priest in "The Beastmaster". To this day, I'm still terrified of Rip Torn.

Celtic Moods and the one that had the X-Files theme (iirc that was the first one) were the superior Moods. All other Moods paled in comparison.

She hit a little later but YES ABSOLUTELY. And Clannad. Now I'm feeling nostalgic 😄

I owned "Watermark" on cassette AND CD because I needed one for the house and one for the car *at all times*

"My Cousin Vinny" is a forever favorite movie and today, thanks to wisdom gained from dozens of rewatches, I remembered to Google whether the vehicle my characters are about to blow up has a solid rear axle or an independent rear suspension.

A seller on Poshmark has a store sample of my wedding dress for sale and I do NOT need it (mine is hanging in my office closet) but I am sorely tempted. For the record: our 20th wedding anniversary is this coming March.

We've been married almost 20 years and tonight, for the first time ever, after he said something was my fault, he referenced a beanstalk. My husband just threw my favorite deep cut back at me. I married the right person 😂

Please tell me you've seen "The Incredible Shrinking Woman" with Lily Tomlin....

Buffy Season 7! Willow asks "did you Google her?" and when Xander thinks that's something dirty, Willow adds "it's a search engine".

Manda Cherry @mandatheginger.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

I have come to the point in my Buffy rewatch that contains the first mass-media documented use of "Google" as a verb. I feel old

Sometimes I can forget an episode of TV was shot/first aired pre-9/11 until there's a scene in an airport and a whole bunch of non-traveling characters are hanging out at the gate

Or! OR!! Diwali starts November 6 this year and is also a "colored lights on the house" holiday. We have neighbors that celebrate Diwali and only kind of do Halloween who I bet will have lights up very soon.

I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user. And a WorldCon member. And I cried reading this.

As someone who worked in HIV/AIDS services and education in the 90's, I cannot fully wrap my mind around how wonderful this is. Holy damn.

Ok! I had heard most of the songs, but not all of them. And I had definitely never seen that ending!!

I've reached S6 of my Buffy rewatch- and as someone who was fooled by the finale fake out when the show switched networks, I realize that I don't think I've ever seen "Once More With Feeling" in its entirety before. So... this is going to be an adventure.

I was on the offramp from 405S to West Valley Highway on the way to grab mcnuggets before picking Seanan up from the airport when I thought there must have been a big truck in my blind spot making the ramp jiggly. Turns out it was AN EARTHQUAKE. Guess I can no longer say I've never felt one....

It’s Launch Day, darling! This one is not cozy or for the faint of heart, please note the warnings, but it’s here at last! And while you should read in the way you like the best—dude, Neil Newbon’s narration knocks it out of the PARK. www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/813073...

Lol. This was not for sharing. 😜 I just now have several years worth of personal Starburst. For Halloween we're doing full size candy from Costco

Sometimes you fail to read the fine print and accidentally order 3+ pounds of red & pink Starbursts.... Not mad about it, though

Welcome to publishing- where, if you aren't under a pile of deadlines, you may start to worry about the state of your career. People who don't live it don't always get it.

Y'all. The band is from NOLA and they opened with IKO IKO and I stg it was like being back home for three minutes. My NY husband did not know what was happening.

Literally me with SHADOWRUN. I am *still* pinching myself. Wonder and awe and joy are definitely worth factoring into a decision.

1110

Manda Cherry @mandatheginger.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

The opening band is still in their "we screen printed our own merch by hand" era and I hope they have a magnificent career ahead of them. 💕

So apropos of nothing in particular, let’s talk about media tie-in novel pay vs. original work pay, shall we? Let’s say you write a novel. It’s set in your own world, your own characters, and titled The Original. You get a book deal! Look at you go!

UPDATE: the venue emailed back. We have seats! I'm so excited to be seeing this band for the first time in 25+ years.

The life of a disabled girl: going to a GA concert tonight, failed to look into accommodations prior to today, was supposed to have emailed before the day of the show to ask about accommodations. Oops. Emailed today anyway & was super apologetic. Fingers crossed it all works out.

Of the 4, Babylon is my favorite, but none of these were life changing for me. I hope they are the perfect songs for someone.

Aaaaaand we have four guys in the penalty box at one time. 😜

I think girliepop is probably monetized & thought she'd be getting traffic with her trash take.

It's so ridiculous and I hope it boosts your preorders.💕

1220

Manda Cherry @mandatheginger.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I have not seen the original video because I don't want to give her traffic (she's probably monetized) but from what I've gleaned watching rebuttals the gist seems to be that it's too voicey...? Like too close to the way acknowledgements read on AO3. It's SO ridiculous and nobody is on her side.

5300

Manda Cherry @mandatheginger.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

It's hilarious. Apparently some ARC-reading booktoker decided to make a video complaining about the way *the acknowledgements* are written. She is getting roasted. Your book is getting mentioned with much excitement & anticipation.
