The US spends almost double what the next closest country does on our military. We could -cut- our spending by the exact same amount as Russia -spends- and still have the best funded military on earth. Imagine what we could do with $401 billion.

I feel like this is the best explanation of why we should all be seriously concerned.

There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then enemies of the state tend to become the people.
