Fantastic 4: First Steps. Definitely the best Fantastic 4 made to date. Far from the best Marvel has made. Appreciate them not focusing on an origin story for the 4 and just jumping straight in. I give it a Spicy Italian Sandwich. 🎥 🎬

Thunderbolts is worth watching. Fun, good action, with a nicely told emotionally driven story at its core. It does a good job of breaking the Marvel pattern of being a movie solely for the sake of setting up the next movie. I give it a Turkey Cheddar Panini 📽️ 🎬

Yeah, go see this one in theaters. Top notch sound track, story, and acting. Worth catching in Dolby or IMAX. Philly Cheesesteak. 📽️ 🎬

Steven Miller and the Trump Admin keep insisting this was a 9-0 win for them. Why don't you read the Supreme Court's own words and tell me your interpretation?

Death of a Unicorn. Very fun creature feature with a satisfying dash of social commentary. A24 always manages to tell the most human stories no matter the theme. I disagree heavily with the critics on this one, I give it A Philly Cheesesteak.

This movie was better than I anticipated. It's exactly what you would expect but very well done. Jack Quaid is ridiculously charming and the choreography well executed. Plenty of pain cringes and laughs. I give it a Chicken Panini 🎬 📽️

Presence, good movie, a story told from a unique perspective. A lot of movies that choose a unique perspective like this don't have the guts to stick to it unflinchingly throughout the whole film. Excellent use of tension and suspense. 📽️ 🎬

The Dead Don't Die: Great little horror comedy, phenomenal casting. Wonderfully dry humor. It's giving Shaun of the Dead but very different. Feels like a movie that shouldn't work but somehow it does. On Netflix now. 📽️🎬

War of the Rohirrim: Not great, could have been good but the animation held it back. Set pieces looked good. Almost had that Ghibli feel with that hyper detailed back ground but in the end it only served to highlight how relatively poor the animation was. 📽️🎬

Secret Level. The show is a bit of a mixed bag but there are some real gems in there. The animations are absolute top notch across the board and some big names voice a fair number of characters. Worth the watch. 8 Eps out now 8 more next week.

Star Wars: Skelton Crew. Ep 1. It really feels like someone said "what if we do The Goonies but in Star Wars?" I don't know if it'll hold up for the whole season but the first episode was charming and enjoyable. Waiting for the elephant kid to do the truffle shuffle though.

Creature Commandos: James Gunn has once again shown he thoroughly understands the assignment. Great entry into the DC animated catalog. Good mix of humor reminiscent of adult swim shows, with enough drama and intrigue to keep it interesting. Sound track is a bop. Good fights too. 📺

Gladiator II This film kinda felt phoned in. The pacing is pretty bad. I'm not generally a stickler for historic accuracy in this kind of film but compared to the first one this is practically a fantasy film. The acting was good and the action scenes were decently choreographed. 📽️

Little before and after of today's tattoo adventure. I got the glyph for "Reclaimer" tattood forever ago but today I finally finished it and added some more Forerunner inspired geometry to the piece. May my love for Halo never be questioned.

Watchmen Chapter I The narrative follows closely to the story beats in the live action 2009 film but with a slower, more philosophical pacing that is closer to source material. If you haven't seen it, skip the 2009 movie, watch this one instead. Looking forward to Chapter II later this year. 📽️ 🎬

In this era of cinematic universes it's far too easy to churn out connected stories that do little more than act as an ad for the next. The Penguin is not one of those. True to the character, top notch story telling. Batman has always stood out for its tragic villains and this adds to that legacy. 📺

Heretic. A24 never seems to miss but they don't always hit a bullseye. Overall excellently shot, well written, definitely worth watching, but I don't know if it's a must see in theaters kind of film. 📽️ 🎬

Barbarian. Great horror movie. Excellent use of tension and jump scares. One of those movies that has you screaming "don't go in there!" But gives the characters just enough motivation to justify going in there. 📽️ 🎬

News for Bungie's anticipated Marathon! Zeigler posted a VidDoc, via Twitter, with information on where the game stands and near future plans. Art Director Joseph Cross responded "a bit of both" when asked if the game will follow a Hero/Operator model or more of a individualized player character.

It's What's Inside. Probably one of the best Netflix originals I've seen. Cinematography was on point. The use of colors, the match cuts, the camera work. All layered on story that's complex but not too opaque. You should make time to see this movie. 📽️ 🎬

Oldboy (2003) and it has to be the original South Korean film not the remake. It is one level of fucked up until the end, then it really cranks it up. Bonus: some of the best fight choreography in cinema. Currently on Netflix (in the US).

Woman of the Hour. Decent movie. Being a dramatization of real events lends it a certain weight but also ties their hands a bit. As a pure movie, different editing and pacing choices could have made it great. As a retelling of real events, it keeps the key facts straight. Overall worth watching. 📽️ 🎬

Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, Ep 1 Gundam fights, hell yeah. Character animation, hell no. As a casual fan of the series I'm not entirely sold on the animation choice yet but the Mobile Suit fights and story could save it (Sub > Dub).
