I know this sounds super super cheesy and dumb but I got emotional at that scene. NOT because Luke Skywalker showed up but because I released this show that I loved because it meant my favorite franchise could still tell original and smaller scale stories was being robbed of exactly that.

Had a meet up with some Animator friends of mine! This was the first time we all got to see each other IRL because two of them came all the way from Mexico. It was incredible to finally meet you all in person! Absolutely wonderful wonderful people 💫

4 months ago I thought it was completely over for Xbox and Playstation had definitely won. I have rarely seen a company tank their own success this hard and for no good reason other than short term profit but it's hard to imagine them making a lot of money from these decisions.

Sure I have my problems with how the OOT remake looks and the last direct didn't have a whole lot exciting for me personally... But also Nintendo is the only one regularly putting out games, isn't drooling to use AI and lay off staff and updates to their console actually feel consumer friendly

99% of the people who make videos titled "The problem with the Indie Animation Industry" have never worked in the industry or even know how a show is made. Ask any of them to describe the tasks of an "Executive Development Producer", "Lead Compositor" or "Post Production Manager" are and they freeze

I feel like Sony would happily shoot their audience in cold blood with a shotgun if it meant a profit increase of 8% on the quarterly earnings report.

I had some free time tonight and decided to make a new thumbnail for my Playstation VR video which is still one of my favorite things I've ever made. Though I've always struggled with the Thumbnail and I think I finally have something I'm happy with. (Hopefully) www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVch...

Also let me say I think this would actually be great if they confirmed alongside it that discs will continue to be produced into the new generation and can still be installed online. This is a pro consumer move in the long run and I'm happy to see them do it but I'm also weary of Xbox right now

020

Mallerd @mallerd.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Yeah it must feel incredibly strange. It got good reception at film festivals and when it was featured in the Letterboxd video rental store so this must be a crazy feeling of whiplash. Cant imagine the amount of overwhelming anxiety they must be going through right now

020

Mallerd @mallerd.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

I'm fine if you disagree with anything I said here, I didn't think the movie was that good myself but I think this culture of hate watching and witch hunting creators because "I read something online" needs to stop. Watch the damn movie before forming an opinion! letterboxd.com/mallerd/film...

A ★★ review of Lesbian Space Princess (2025)

There is a BIG difference between straight up slop and flawed art. Lesbian Space Princess isn't a great movie. The main character of Siara is unlikeable and by the end of the movie her arc feels very ...

Mallerd @mallerd.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

If there is some proof that the creators are pro terf, by all means send it to me and I'll take a look but I didn't get that impression at all from the actual movie

000

Mallerd @mallerd.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Ive actually watched the movie and there is nothing in it to suggest that. I have no idea where people got that from. I think that was just a specific group seeing an opportunity to spread misinformation and running with it

000

Mallerd @mallerd.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Of all the films we could hate on right now it shouldnt be a independant made with passion 2D animated movie made by and for people of a marginalized group. Yeah some of the writing isnt great but the people who made it clearly cared about it. There is a BIG difference between slop and flawed art
