For the Metamorphosis the insect had to be center stage - there was no avoiding it this case - so I started researching insects, bugs and specifically cockroaches. Being a city girl and a self-confessed insectophob, it was painful to say the list but I came up with 4 concepts:

To put the cover in context a bit, going dark and gritty is pretty outside of my comfort zone and deep nature so I knew it would be tricky. I had previously managed to dunk the challenge with both Dracula and Frankenstein (Doctor Frankie is as dapper as it gets…)
