#rehabbing a #thrifted antique mirror with a deep clean & wax. So satisfying to see the difference a little ❤️ makes. It’s too beautifully aged and crafted to do a full #refinish & it would be a tragedy to #paint it.

Spring is hot as heck this year, we’ve already nudged the triple digits. But my native plants keep on keepin’ on with minimal intervention. #nativeplants #txgarden #pollinators #conservation

This is the face of a dog who spent the night at the ER getting antivenom treatment after surprising a spicy danger noodle. She’s not impressed with the back half of the acreage right now. Thank goodness for the #nationalsnakebitesupport network #missbea #dogsofbluesky #snakebite

I’ve been wanting a little decorative propagation setup for my kitchen window and when I spotted this funny little bud vase setup, I thought it could work! $6 well spent! #thrifteddecor #propagationstation #reuse #nativeplants

I have a flag that says “Respect the Locals!” Some days that means planting native plants for pollinators & some days it means extracting the same stubborn ass rat snake from the chicken coop yet again, & releasing her into half a mile, one creek, and a road away in hopes she’ll move on this time.

I wanted hinge pin heads but couldn’t find any that fit the vibe of my library, so I’m making them from 1/12 scale doll house birds. Not bad for $5 and a little bit of time. Especially since I need 12 of them! 😅 #diydecor #library #darkacademia #witchdecor

Someone put this stupid fucking flag in a tree along the interstate here in TX last November and I have to be honest, it’s become one of my favorite accidental allegorical art installations.

I get really pissed off when I remember we were charged $3k for this “dry creek” installation in 2023. Asked for a “natural looking dry creek utilizing existing drainage areas with a mix of large and small rocks” They set that price & I should have known what I was gonna get based on that.

Took #MissBea to an event where she spent 80% of the time there under a table and the other 20% being praised for being a Very Good Girl. This was of course exhausting and she spent the entire next day like this. #dogsofbluesky #shesworkshardforthekibble

Explored my big dirty city from a new angle this week. Kayaking buffalo bayou in #houston was something I’d never thought I’d do. (Native Houstonians, iykyk why.) But it was honestly really cool and fun! Just… still ran home to shower immediately, lol

Sometimes I pass things up and then think about them for a long time and have vague regrets. This is one of those times. It’s been over a year. I’m mad at past me.

I am trying to be very intentional with my purchases this year, buying only things I know I will use and #thrifting and shopping #local and #smallbusiness as much as possible. Here’s something ridiculous I found recently and how I used it! (Yeah I know goodwill; small town = limited options!)

Every #thrifter I know has a sort of vague wishlist that just sorta floats around in the back of their mind and when we score an item from that list it’s super satisfying. I’ve been watching for a large glass bell cloche for YEARS. Jazzed to find this one for $8 the other day!!!! #thifteddecor

Completely chuffed with this perfect vessel from the thrift shop this morning! It’s just the right size for TX wildflowers which tend towards tall and slender and need a bit of support. $2 well spent!

One of my favorite things about #thrifting is finding these little vaguely unhinged vignettes. Are they on purpose? Did an employee do this? A fellow treasure hunter? Idk, but I’m always thrilled to see them!
