Honestly the citadel was overhyped and had a lot of the problems that omega did but with a shinier surface. Not to mention even if it was usable (keepers were made by reapers.) the collective trauma of the galactic seat of government being massacred would make it an instant no go for most govs.

I think a lot of the anxiety centered around the fandom aside from not having a release since andromeda. Is genuine fear that it will be a repeat of andromeda or worse due to current policies implemented at ea such as mandatory AI use. Here’s hoping the tv show sets the right tone and helps hype.

The only ai that is okay for mass effect is the geth and Edi….you know… ACTUAL ai. These LLMs literally have no concept of object permanence. The VI from mass effect are more intelligent and closer to AI then LLMs.

It really was such a generation defining game. Even despite the ending and it thought me valuable life lessons about understanding other people’s motivations and goals. I hope we see another game like it that revolves around choice and depth of dialogue in such a unique way.
