It’s clear from the reaction about RTÉ staff covering a World Cup playoff that people have no idea how much work goes into broadcasting. And how archive/colour/social history is recorded by these programmes and not just the live game. The output by 41 people was actually immense.

I wrote this, upon realising that my child has a right to an education, but not Irish-medium education despite Irish being the official language of the state and her first language. Mol an óige isn’t a phrase heard around the corridors of the Dept of Education. www.independent.ie/opinion/comm...

A UCG without an Arts Degree is like RCSI without a medical degree. It’s integral to the fabric and culture of the university. I can’t believe we’ve allowed education to wander to the point that if something doesn’t plonk someone directly into a job, working for the man, it doesn’t have value.

Wrote a piece today in favour of a four day week. Before naysayers jump on, just think about it. And think about these two other headlines also published in the same paper today. What kind of world and life do we actually value? www.independent.ie/opinion/comm...

MÁIRE TREASA NÍ CHEALLAIGH: Easing the return - Gaelic Life
USUALLY at this time of year, GAA journalists are squabbling about All-Star awards and ‘rediscovering’ the joys of the club championship. However, 2024 has given us much more to talk about thanks to t...
