Another element joins our expedition on main group Lewis acids! After Bi, Sb, Sn & Al, we now access a Ge(IV) centre using Tp! Ge shows superior activity than Sn(IV) in phosphine oxide deoxygenation, an intriguing reversal of expected down the group trend.
