On July 30, in 1867 in the state of FL, hundreds of Black men registered to🗳️ Included in that count were 2 of my 7x great-grandfathers🥹😵 The document also list how long the registered person lived in the state/county. Many resided in the state for several years.

These records list individuals who registered to vote in the State of Florida in 1867. The participation of African Americans is also significant.

Under the Reconstruction Acts, Black men in southern states could vote & hold office for the first time. This act allowed for Black men to register to vote 🗳️ & where my digging landed me.
