Maine's $300 relief checks will start going out 7/31, but it will take a few weeks to mail them all. If you're income-eligible and you filed your 2025 Maine state taxes, you don't need to do anything - the check should be mailed to you automatically. If you don't normally file taxes, read this:

We all know someone who has MaineCare (Medicaid)! In 2024, out of 11,586 births in Maine, 4,313 babies came into our world thanks to MaineCare. The numbers are greater in rural Maine, which means MaineCare plays a big part in supporting our rural hospitals. ✅ Source: vist.ly/58vxm

Maine’s SNAP program was created almost 30 years ago to bridge the gap from federal cuts that prevented many immigrants from meeting basic needs. Our lawmakers, then and now, understood that everyone deserves enough to eat, no matter where they were born or how much money they make.

After enacting the deepest SNAP cuts in history last year, President Trump’s 2027 budget would continue to make groceries less affordable for low-income families. It would slash the WIC fruit & vegetable benefit by $1.4 billion & eliminate a food program for low-income seniors.

The state budget was voted on late Wed night by the Appropriations Committee, and now goes to the full legislature. It includes $11 million for the Eviction Prevention Program, a millionaire tax, and many other priorities we've been working for together! vist.ly/4w2w9
