Indicative of an education system were children are denied the basic human need to urinate. Such policies have nothing to do with education & all to do with power & control. Utterly horrendous & inhumane www.theguardian.com/education/20...

Children's Wellbeing & Schools Bill allows YOUR local authority to decide what is in YOUR child's best interests, if you home educate. No other parent has the state remove their rights unless their child is in care. 1st they came for us, you next? @wendycharleswarner.bsky.social #EducationOtherwise

Home education is not an educational Cul-De-Sac; it opens doors for many children where school is: the wrong fit, fails the individual child, or even risks their mental health or even life. Home education allows them to navigate the educational landscape to become successful happy adults

Children's Wellbeing Bill (2nd reading today) ‼️if this bill becomes law & someone makes a referral about your child to children's social services the investigation blocks your parental education rights? Yet 78% of investigations do NOT end in child protection plans. #EducationOtherwise

"The true aim of everyone who aspires to be a teacher should be, not to impart his own opinions, but to kindle minds." Frederick Robertson. With the failings of the English school system perhaps it should be 'rekindle minds: who have been switched off by a not fit for purpose State education.'

Speaks to the core issues of obscuring the real failures leading to a child's death by deflecting blame onto home education

@hzeffman.bsky.social heads up: in England (& UK) it is home education NOT home schooling; home education is the term adopted by the DfE & current statute including proposed legislation. So when reporting please use the correct terminology
