This week, we officially kicked off the LONELY-EU project, funded by the European Union. In this project, we aim to pool existing data on the socioeconomic predictors and consequences of #loneliness and #socialisolation, derive policy recommendations and create a EU-wide network of stakeholders.

#Loneliness is still widespread among young people in Europe. In a new study for @bertelsmannst.bsky.social, we found that in 2024, 57% of youth in Europe are at least moderately lonely. With @berndschaefer.bsky.social and Ricarda Steinmayr Links to full reports (German / English) in next posts.

We applied moderated multilevel polynomial regression and response surface analysis to data from 3 longitudinal studies which resulted in lots of pretty plots like the ones here.
