As a recovering bureaucrat: I have sent letters like this. It seems absolutely stupid, but you have the right to appeal any decision and I have a law-obliged duty to inform you of your rights. The likelyhood of you wanting to make use of that right is irrelevant. You have it and I must inform you

The public and employers react to these things, sure, but free speech protections weren't put in place for them, only to protect citizens from the state. You of course don't want employers firing employees for random things they've said, but there are other protections in place for that.

Magnus @magnuslyngra.no · 23/07/2025

Considering the intention of free speech protections were to prevent reactions from an oppressive government, I would like to see some examples of anti woke and anti political correctness statements leading to a reaction from the state.

> Tech fatalism: resistance is futile. If you do not betray yourself with your technology choices, your friends, family and companies you put your trust in will unknowingly betray you with their choices instead.

000

Magnus @magnuslyngra.no · 07/07/2025

100

Magnus @magnuslyngra.no · 07/07/2025

100

Magnus @magnuslyngra.no · 07/07/2025

With how things are evolving, i'm considering retreating from all sources of news and updates on world events because seeing how things are evolving and having no recourse is too depressing.

Using free speech and the pursuit of meritocracy as a veil to cover racism, sexism and all the other isms is such a shame. I'm sad to see the direction much of the west is heading.

Taking last semester off from studying and just diving into hobbies again was fantastic. Now I'm trying to get my head back in the game to continue my masters and boy it is challenging. How do you shift gears and make a fundamental change to your habits effectively?

Pan's Labyrinth, Black Swan (might violate the obstacle criteria), The Devil Wears Prada and Leon The Professional are the best I can come up with, but this was a difficult one, sadly.

The problem with being a yes man is that you either need to build a meticulous record of all the things you've said yes to doing, or you need to be comfortable residing in absolute chaos. I do the latter and thus am in a constant flow state of Doom Eternal soundtrack vibes youtu.be/95D9LZJoTKg?...
