Its from a licensing contract between Sony and Marvel

A licensing contract concerning Spider-Man. Spider-Man does not have sex with anyone before 16, is not gay, and is only allowed to drink, smoke, sell drugs, torture, and kill when wearing the black suit.

Ghost of Yotei does a great thing where you level up by finding altars in the world. On my first playthrough, the system worked well enough that I got all of them without doing any Googling. On my second playthrough, I am two short. The internet did not help. It is time for drastic measures.

A spreadsheet I am making to catalogue every single Altar of Reflection in the damn game to find the two I'm missing

Sometimes I read my own writing and I'm like damn I'm good

This even goes to the purely digital; most modern people have smartphones, which are among other things capable of instantly connecting to and posting on the internet quite literally in the palm of one’s hand. The implications of this for numerous fields (including but not limited to science, activism, politics, recreation, entertainment, fandom, and pictures of cats) is staggering,

Got a can of coconut water from the gas station and now I feel like this every time I take a sip

Not only that, its from Joseph Goodman of Goodman Games fame. You can still buy it off their website! It got honorable mention at the 2002 Ennies! Roleplaying Games!

The cover of Dinosaur Planet: Broncosaurus Rex (the B is colored as a US flag and the X as a Confederate flag)

A genteel plantation owner with a pistol and a laser cavalry saber rides some kind of Cerarosaur (T. Rex shaped dinosaur).

Aside from everything else, the use of a Modern Metal Aesthetic as an invocation of D&D's past always rubs me the wrong way. We know what Old D&D looked like. It was goofy and painterly and pretty but it was never THIS.

A hand-drawn cartoon of adventurers in cheap mouse costumes trying to sneak past some giant rats.

The weird painted cover of a DnD box set.

Red Sonja was also on the prelaunch page??? I'm slowly losing my mind here. Who is this woman and why don't they want you to see her anymore?

The prerelease page for Deathbringer. On the right, next to all the iconic characters, is the Red Sonja lookalike.

I refreshed the page while I was looking for an image for the article and suddenly the readhead was GONE, replaced by two completely different art pieces.

The header image for the Backerkit, depicting the iconic Doomsayer, with her long eyelash makeup, pseudo Dolly Parton hair, and chainmail bra over a very revealing dress. A picture of the man himself reminds us that this was designed by Professor DM.

The iconic Deathbringer, a massive armor-plated Space Marine looking motherfucker standing atop a mountain. Splayed next to his foot for the viewer's "enjoyment" is a blonde babe wearing next to nothing, while a volcano symbolically erupts in the background. I wish I'd had this image yesterday when I was talking about the game's sexism.

So I was working on my second Deathbringer essay today, when I noticed something really interesting had happened to the Backerkit. So, previously the header image and the "Beyond Shadowdark" section had featured this lady, who is just very clearly Red Sonja.

A painting of a redheaded woman in a chainmail bikini fighting giant spiders. Like I cannot explain to you how much this looks like Red Sonja.

I've seen that thought before but I'm always reminded of this Shortpacked! comic.

A comic of dialogue between a man and a woman.

Panel 1:
Man: I'm tired of you griping that chicks in comic books are sexually objectified! The duded are too! They're big, impossibly-muscled hulks!
Woman: First of all, google "False equivalence."

Panel 2:
Woman: Being a big, impossibly-muscled hulk is a male power fantasy. It has jack to do with what a female such as myself finds attractive.

Panel 3: The woman starts drawing.
Woman: Here, let me show you what I mean. If I'm gonna get the hots for Batman, he has to be built for dexterity, not power. Let's make him more lean.

Panel 4:
Woman: And you know what? Seeing his eyes is important, they should be large and intense. Let's throw in some rosy cheeks and kissable lips.

Panel 5: A close up of her drawing, a batman I can only describe as submissive and breedable.

Panel 6:

Man: Th-that art makes me feel uncomfortable.

Woman: Welcome to the background radiation of my life.

I'm a certified OSR Disliker, but Black Sword Hack by The Merry Mushmen is absolutely fantastic. The vibes are great, the gameplay is great, the random charts are great. Give them your money. www.themerrymushmen.com/product/bla…
