Deeper and deeper 😀
Times Of Israel: “The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says more than 72,000 people in the Strip have been killed during the war — including over 600 since the October 2025 ceasefire — though the toll does not differentiate between civilians and combatants.

The Israeli military believes that Hamas’s overall toll is largely accurate, with IDF officials estimating that two to three civilians were killed for every slain terror operative.”

Moreover, certain political factions are more akin to religious cults, where obedience to their leaders (dead or alive) is supreme value to everything else. Critique is then not only discouraged, but simply not permitted. It creates a sense of strong community, which HOLDS THE TRUTH! Rings a bell?

But only a fraction of people are able to make such an effort. Effectively, it’s not difficult to be an authoritarian leftist. It takes a moment under an influence of a powerful rhetoric figure to shift emotionally. And as history shows people change their political views all the time with 0 issues!
A communist glorifying nazism, cause “at least it’s an ethos”.

And that’s cause politics is very often irrational, based on emotions such as fear, hate, hope etc. And that means it is indeed very personal in the first place, and ideological in the second place, because you can only build a strictly ideological position through reading, thinking and discussing.

It won’t make sense if you treat political views as binary, black & white. But it starts making sense if you reject this perspective and see them as a relational, free-flowing mixture of different elements, that don’t necessarily compete for coherence. In fact, they’re anything but coherent!
A communist admitting her political views are based on vibing with whatever works.

Redfash is an often used synonym for tankies or authoritarian leftists, that usually fall within communist spectrum. Some tankies reject the label as contradictory or as a smear campaign… but then some embrace it and openly glorify nazism. 🧵

Polish researchers estimate that in 1950 (so at the peak) there were about 3 mln people imprisoned in Soviet gulag system. In comparison about 1,9 mln people are held in US prisons as of today. These are both huge numbers… but Soviets killed about 60 mln people in the gulags on the top of that!

As much as I value Marx as a major contributor to XIX century political science, economics and philosophy, his works are merely a curiosity when confronted with current reality on the ground. I’d rather start with Foucault, Graeber, Scott, Derrida, Zuboff, and toss up Adorno, Marcuse, Horkheimer.

A new poll published by Polish outlet wp.pl is out now! It answers the question if Poles are in favour of shooting down russian airplanes in their air space. Indeed, 40,5% are strongly for it, and 27,1% are rather for it. In total, only 9,7% of Poles are against it… strongly or not.

I believe this shift to be important both for discussing the current political choices of Gazans and what will happen after this massacre comes to an end!
A graph released by Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) showing a significant political shift among Gazans in 2025, who don’t really support Hamas anymore. An article also says: “In a survey last year by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR), 57% of respondents predicted that the Gaza Strip would come under Hamas’ control after the war. When asked about their preference for governance, 58% favored Hamas’ return, while only 20% supported the Palestinian Authority.”

Face urns have been present in Europe since the Bronze Age. Difficult to say where the style came from originally, but it was definitely adopted by the people who had inhabited Troy III. Exhibit A (Archeological Museums of Istanbul).

It’s been always baffling to me how certain leftist factions (particularly tankies, but not only) always go an extra mile to prove how mainstream media hide „The Truth” about CIA’s and other secret service actions in the Middle East… and then I go online and find articles about it in 1 minute!

My visit to Basilica Cistern in Istanbul was very inspiring. This is the biggest water cistern built in Constantinopole by Justinian I (527-565 CE) during the reconstruction of the Basilica Stoa above it, which was finished in 541 CE. It’s around 138 x 65 meters and is supported by 336 columns. 🏺
