I restarted Ghost Recon: Wildlands after the update, and I don’t know if I’m paying attention more than my first playthrough or if I’m collecting more intel, but there’s definitely a strong “we are the baddies” vibe throughout the game.

Forbidden Lands has been burrowing into the back of my brain again. Tried running it once online during Covid, but running regular games online is not for me. Does anyone have any actual plays, podcasts or video reviews they like for it? Trying to immerse myself in it.

Played the V6 playtest today. The sky isn’t falling, no matter what you may read online. I actually liked the merged Vitae/health mechanic, as much as I loved the Hunger Die from V5. I’m going to have to play again to really form an opinion.

My copy of Wages of Sin was delivered with crushed corners. I sent an email to the shipper, but told them I wasn’t looking for a replacement. I just wanted them to know for QA documentation. Sometimes I feel like maybe I’m too much of a pushover.

Pregens with better than average ability scores. Low level adventures were basically funnels. Play multiple characters until one survives long enough to hit level 2 or 3.

My favorite part of prepping to run old TSR adventures is the recommendations the modules give to DMs because the game doesn’t work as written: Let players keep rolling hit points until they get at least x; give them 4d6 instead of 3d6x10 gold; give them a starting magic item.

Recommend some RPGs that do cosmic horror or weird fiction well that aren’t the obvious Cthulhu choices, and are good for one shots. I’m submitting games for NecronomiCon, and so far I’ve submitted 2 Delta Green sessions. Considering Mothership, Trophy, Ruination Pilgrimage, Liminal Horror.

Combat is usually my least favorite part of a game, unless stakes are high and creativity matters. I love combat on DCC because of Mighty Deeds. I love combat in Delta Green because someone is most likely going to die. When combat is “who rolls dice better” or has no teeth, I’d rather just skip it.

Impossible Landscapes spoilers ahead!!! After investigating both the Dorchester House and Dr. Barbara, M-Cell made a critical mistake, causing Delta Green to dispatch the hit team. M-Cell barely survived the ambush, with two members in critical condition.

Believe this was already answered, but it’s basically a more powerful Find Familiar spell. I was wondering if I missed some occult or folklore association with the word patronus outside Harry Potter. Glad to see it was changed because it killed the vibe as I read the pdf.

Does patronus have an origin outside of Harry Potter? It’s a spell name in the new Dragonbane Book of Magic and it’s annoying me.
