Also-also, sometimes I remember that Velcro exists - and it is a perfectly acceptable tool to use for a waistband closure for a series of layered skirts that need to stay closed/decently smooth under other skirts, and is helpful in being adjustable; especially in a non-historical/competitive piece.

Also, true to form, I came up with another accessory concept while working on the aforementioned Corset. Potentially usable for the upcoming Zelda movie, once I mock it up outside the roughest of MS paint sketches. (Note: It will still be an MS paint sketch, but Possibly Slightly Better. Ish.)

My "stab sewing needle through extremely thick layers of fabric, with pliers assisting" callouses have grown soft. Clearly I haven't done ornate and excessive trimming of garments for far too long. Fortunately I seem to have JUST enough trim for the corset. Barely.

Okay. Test run of "Trying on all layers/skirts" proved to be informative - but good! Confirmed what I thought I needed to adjusted but overall seeing it on myself rather than my dress from was good - it does indeed fit me and works with my proportions, which is a relief. Much work to do still.

Trimmings under consideration. Partially because we’re playing the game of: “do I actually have enough of each of these to cover the hems?” Either way, I do like the effect that they’re giving so if I do have to ultimately find or purchase something else, similar concept would be great.

The swag thing... sort of worked. In hindsight, if I changed x y and z it would have worked better. But I can a)work with what I made and b)that's the beauty of doing it LIVE and making it up - there are only wonderful fabric disasters that we can learn from. Or learning nothing from at all. ✨🧐

Not to mention the Field Operations vibe. Went into OC for a tentative second try. Tiptoed into the field to assess, and then experienced the "In the party now, White Mage! No time to explain, GO GO GO" Party invite from nowhere, and then you just... Go. And farm. It's fascinating. And mayhem.

I don't do a lot of battle content in #ffxiv, so it's always fascinating when I encounter the Random Things. Yesterday's triple hunt train in Ultima Thule: 1. Everyone screaming AWOOOO at the same time at a mark. 2. The Eidthurs Containment Ring during the "Wee Break", which was also new.

Corset belt structure: complete. Thinking of using this chain-with-crocheted-edge trimming as the “grommet” aspect of the lacing - I’ve used it before and threading ribbon the links can be quite fetching. Will likely trim the whole belt as well - just tbd which trim/look I want to go with.

I discovered there were glowy #ffxiv Miner/Botanist tools. Many legendary nodes fell to my axe and hammer today, as I plowed though those achievements - I was decently close but, there was WORK to be done for sure. Gatherer glamour refreshed for Evercold. Gotta wear a warm jacket after all.

Heh, I can assure you it’s just the most basic of broadcloth linings! They’re such tricky beasts but oh, yes I agree they can be glorious. ✨ This pattern at least is easy as pie - I’ve made it a few times and it’s a gentle one - being just a belt/underbust helps A LOT, though.

Pinning pattern pieces to fabric, while pausing to hit the "TACOS???" Macro on my UI = Powerful Multitasking. Still relatively new to xiv macros, I found one that does Orange Scrip collectables for my gear level. Add ingredients. Push button for Rarefied Tacos. Get Scrips. Now I want IRL tacos.
