Mike is woken up by pounding on his apartment door. He glances at
the clock; it’s 3:23 AM. What the fuck? For a moment he waits for
Claire to handle it, but then he remembers that she moved out. She
moved out like two months ago, dude. He’s tempted to just ignore it,
wait for whoever it is to go away, but there’s an urgency there that
worries him.

He peers through the peephole; on the other side is a woman with

Mike cracks the door open, leaving the chain on. “Can I—”
“Please, please, he took my phone.” Compared to the pounding, her
voice is almost inaudible, low and quiet. “Let me in, please, before he
gets here.”
Mike’s eyes widen and without a second thought he unchains the
door. She rushes inside. He shuts and locks it securely.
“What’s going on? Shit, no, you don’t need to tell me that.” He turns to

“I-I…” I’m super not. But instead of saying that, she leans forward and kisses Athame. The woman kisses her back like she’s drowning, trying to drag Lucy under; Lucy pulls back a little, then kisses her again. This time, Athame lets her take the lead, slower, gentler. She takes her time, relaxes into Athame, and explores her mouth with her tongue. Without thinking, she puts a hand behind Athame’s head, twines fingers into her soft, straight hair, presses closer. Athame’s arms wrap around her.

* When Lucielle breaks away, mouth open, breathing hard, Athame grabs her arms tight. The next step in this dance is to roll over and pin Lucielle to the ground.
