That is such a great image.

Even if he did, does that mean he can be denied emergency medical care? Is that the way the law works?! Unbelievable.

There is even a name for it: Nanny Tom. Our neighbor has a white tomcat that has looked after and befriended three generations of kittens that have rotated through their house over the past decade. (The neighbors have an issue with having too many cats and not getting them fixed fast enough.)

Trump can tell Ukraine to stop the energy attacks, but somebody should tell him that he lost leverage after he cut off all US support. Why exactly should Zelensky care about what he says?

I had a friend who didn't like cats for no particular reason except for these stereotypes. Then his girlfriend got a cat and his worldview changed dramatically. He was impressed with how tough cats were and how focused on violence they were. Against their prey, against each other, even against dogs!

That is a pretty good picture.

Yes, but how happy are their billionaires? Nobody ever thinks about the poor down-trodden ultra wealthy!

Yep. Hard to say, and I am no expert either. It just seems like all of the extra armor on an MBT doesn't seem to be of any use. Drones can destroy an MBT just as easily as they can destroy an APC. Crazy world.

I can imagine a situation where a Bradley-type APC would be more useful than an main battle tank for infantry mobility and support, and a drone swarm would also be more useful than a MBT for infantry fire support.

That is certainly an interesting correlation presented in your table, but why would AIPAC be concerned with Medicare4All? How does that affect their interests?

Every European institution should stay as far away from Palantir as possible. Nothing good will come of associating with this company.

Or even in 2016. It was blatently obvious then too.

When there is no competition for territory (no cat is going to claim the territory a couple of feet from a dog), cats can be strangely sociable.

There is probably a file containing four crosses in the shape of a swastika on a computer somewhere in Lindel's campaign headquarters.

Democratic Socialists are out to reclaim the word and point out to Americans that capitalism without socialism leads to poverty and despair. A better America is possible. Also, whatever word you chose, fascists will demonize it. We can't run forever.

Pretty amazing shot I must say. Two moving targets, wind resistance on the bullets, 100 or more meters distance.

My cat loves the life I provide for her and follows me around everywhere I go. I adopted her when she was 8yo from a neighbor who fed her, but ignored her because they had 6 or so other cats, plus two dogs and 7 people in their house. We have a real emotional bond, not a food relationship.

They do not care about those issues. At all. And they never did or will.

I agree completely, but imagine what the gas and coal lines would look like if the majority of new energy demand wasn't being covered by renewable sources. We are def making significant progress.

Clean coal is when you skip all of the intermediate steps of converting sunlight into organic matter, burying it underground, etc etc and just start using the sunlight directly. It works great! ;)

And what's even worse is that this gentleman is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many more retirees who are living marginal, unstable lives in abject poverty who no one will hire.

Batteries already provide base-load electricity in may places around the world, and the technology is getting better and cheaper with each passing year. Nuclear is no longer needed. We have a cheaper alternative available right now.

The Chinese battery giant CATL is rapidly rolling out grid-scale sodium-based batteries that contain no difficult materials like cobalt. They are not as energy dense as Lithium-based batteries, but that doesn't matter for the application. They are cheap and effective.
110
Dorian Henderson @maggievalley.bsky.social · 03/07/2026
This is not the case thankfully. There are many, many grid-scale battery installations all over the world with 228 gigawatts installed in 2025 alone, 10x the amount for 2022. China is leading the way of course, with the US in second. This is good news!
000
Dorian Henderson @maggievalley.bsky.social · 03/07/2026
Don't fret. Effective grid-scale battery technology has already arrived. The technology has reached a price point in some places that it is more expensive to run a gas-fired power plant than it to shut it down and install solar/batteries. And batteries are only getting better and cheaper.

Dorian Henderson @maggievalley.bsky.social · 03/07/2026
Even if someone figures out fusion reactors, containing and harnessing a miniature sun using exotic technologies will almost certainly be ridiculously expensive compared filling a field up with solar panels and installing a couple of grid scale batteries. I think solar and wind still wins.

Dorian Henderson @maggievalley.bsky.social · 03/07/2026
If something happens to the sun, then power generation will the least of our worries.

The second that Russian troops crossed the border from Belarus to Ukraine, Ukrainian drones would torch all of the oil infrastructure in Belarus and destroy any part of the industrial base that might be useful for the military.

George Conway is absolutely not a reliable representative for democratic constituents. He may hate Trump, but he is still a conservative, and would reliably side with conservatives on bread and butter issues among other things. There are much, much better choices than him.

This is a symptom of lazy complaint-based enforcement of HOA rules rather than consistent enforcement across the neighborhood. I joined my HOA board to eliminate this kind of unfair practice. It wasn’t hard to do. Somebody just needs to care a little bit.

Don't assume that Europe is powerless against the Russians. Europe has at least 5 or more years to prepare with Ukraine's help. Russia could walk into another drone-infested buzzsaw in the Baltics by the time they are ready to invade.

If they nuke the filibuster today for the SAVE act, they can just reinstate it in the future when it suites them. Do you think they would give up that leverage permanently if there was a chance of Democratic control of congress?

This is an excellent point. Why exactly are we doing this? What is the deal we are looking for? And why will dropping bomb help us get the deal?
