I’ve always been a vote the day of kinda’ person. I like stepping into the elementary school, seeing my neighbors, admiring the kids art. It’s a little reminder of all that I love about where I live. I’m that person who says “ohhh, there’s a line” with excitement. But this year I’m voting early.

One reason we believe Virginia in general and Charlottesville/Albemarle in particular should build a lot more housing is that Virginia is the only southern state with a shade of green in this map. We should be a place where LGBTQ+ people are safe AND have access to quality, affordable housing.

I cannot in good conscience repost the actual post. This framing is insane and is part of the reason we are where we are. The article buries the lead: “It's important to see these indictments and the use of this law for what it is, which is an attempt to scare Americans”

Within hours, the White House agreed the patient surveys painted a clear picture, the people said. In an internal call, the White House aides approved statements from the public health agencies for public release — though they still only identified Taco Bell as linked to the outbreak, without naming Taylor Farms specifically.
Taco Bell moved first, releasing a statement. While it did not explicitly name Taylor Farms it said it believed "public health is a shared responsibility among restaurants, their suppliers, and authorities, and we are proud to have consistently acted quickly and proactively to protect our guests."
The agency updates on the outbreak were finally posted after 10 p.m. New York time - hours behind schedule - and also omitted directly naming Taylor Farms or saying if the company would recall products.

This free documentary is a MUST SEE. Shuffling people around the US, away from their attorneys and family, away from their Habeas Corpus filings, on a merry-go-round of extremely expensive tax-payer funded charter flights, is a key part of the ICE death machine and hardly anyone is talking about it.
