How: a Godot .pck starts with "GDPC" and a table of every file's path, offset and size. In an exe the pack sits at the very end, its size in the last few bytes. About 100 lines of Python read that table and refuse anything from the full game's folder, the tests or the tools.

The demo is the full game with its later islands left out. SO - one wrong export and they'd ship to everyone, and noone will tell you. After every export a script opens the built game and reads its file list. Four scenes. Clean.☺️ Basically a test for the export, right?) #godot #indiedev #gamedev

A terminal: python tools/pack_check.py --list on the demo's exe prints "560 files, 43.9 MB", a list with data/demo_run.tres and the four islands darkroom, firstjob, sea and treehouse, and then "clean".

How: the bot gets only what a player gets. It asks the same rules the game uses to refuse a move, scores every thread and seed it could place, and takes the best one. The sim runs without the renderer, so a ten-minute island takes seconds. There is a set of rules to check whether anything broke, TDD

You use TDD, right? Playing your game over and over just to test some fix - takes its tall, especially when you have a full-time job too. A bot plays every island, four different ways, and fails if something is wrong. Nobody is holding the mouse in this clip. #godot #indiedev #gamedev

Thhaaaaanks :3 I got some feedback on demo 😊 Ind really appreciate that At first i was hesitant to fix browser issues since game was made for desctop, but after checking the stats - decided that its worth it😅 Most people prefer to play in browser😮‍💨
