I had the great pleasure of seeing my amazing fifth grade teacher today while I was visiting home. Good news, everyone, he still remembers the murder mystery play he let me & a friend write, direct, and produce as part of class, where we made him play the murder victim. 10/10 would repeat 5th grade.

Gearing up for Tabletop Train Jam 3 and realizing that a bundle is just not going to be a feasible addition… the fall into winter is when work gets the busiest/most stressful. I tried last year and dropped the ball, so we’re going back to a regular for-fun jam this year.

Local yart sale was long, delightful, and ultimately a really fun success. Sold most of the paintings I brought out, plus more games than I expected to. Saw some lovely pals, met some cool new ones, ran out of business cards but they're a little outdated anyway, good stuff!

Sometimes I have trouble figuring out where people fall on the line between “parody/satire” and “being mean-spirited or condescending.” I try to err on the side of kindness. When it doesn’t feel clear, I practice taking a step away from those works to give myself time to see how I react to them.

I highly recommend starting your new game brainstorming notebook with a mind map of "What do I want to make?" - this looks like chaos but it helped me focus on my TTRPG priorities. Of which I probably still have too many.

A 19x25 cm unruled journal, open to the first page. A web/mind-map style diagram fills the entire page.

At the center, in an emphasized box: What Do I Want To Make?
