the way I do it is painting it in one extreme position let it cure a bit so it's ok to touch, move the joints to the other extreme and paint it again.

there are not a lot of armor MSG parts most are just small pannels that don't really fit the shape of the girls so stealing armor from other kits or a HG Gundam would be the best option imo
