A trial at Oxford is just one of the dozens across the world grinding to a halt after the USAID funding freeze. The study is testing a cutting-edge malaria vaccine - the RH5.2-VLP - for the first time. At least 40 people had been injected with the new jab before the freeze, it is understood.

While we don't yet know the cause of the possible Disease X outbreak in DRC, I have to commend DRC and Africa CDC for making these epidemiological details publicly available. Note, US health authorities have not released this level of demographic information on H5N1 cases...

Live H5N1 has now been detected in raw milk sold in Fresno, California. In May, I interviewed the owner of a small raw milk business in the same area. He'd received multiple calls from people requesting samples of H5N1-infected milk, believing it would provide immunity against the virus, worrying...
