Two thirds of articles about the wildfires didn't mention climate change. Once again parts of our media are failing at the most basic part of their job - reporting the truth. uk.themedialeader.com/two-thirds-o...

Two-thirds of UK news articles about wildfires this summer haven't mentioned climate change
Analysis from the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit adds to concerns that national newspapers are failing to link this summer's extreme weather to climate change and the net-zero policies necessary to mitigate its drastic effects.

Feels like in any other time, a solar eclipse happening right before a day of incredible heat that inevitably starts a tonne of wildfires would have been considering a spiritually terrifying combination.

Global warming may have accelerated since 2015. After accounting for El Niño, volcanoes, and solar variability, researchers estimate the warming rate increased from ~0.2°C/decade to ~0.35°C/decade. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/202...

Scientists detect a sharp acceleration in global warming
Global warming appears to have shifted into a faster gear. After removing the effects of El Niño, volcanic eruptions, and solar cycles, researchers found that the planet has warmed at roughly 0.35°C p...

Arctic ice melting at record rates. Wildfires across Canada. Europe and Britain burning up. Record heat in India. Climate change is happening faster and harder than predicted. Yet government are acting slower than promised or actively undermining new technology. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

I remember being at school where global warming was discussed as a ‘future problem the grown-ups should really do something about...’ Now the future is here, and I’m the grown up and having to keep my kids inside in May because it’s too hot, and we still haven’t woken up. 😔

They are killing us. Each of the UK’s richest 0.1% produces more carbon pollution in eight days than someone in the bottom 50%. Since 1990 bottom 90% of population has cut carbon emissions by 26%. Top 0.1% increased theirs by 53%. Govts do little to curb harms by the super-rich.

We can't prosecute Water Companies for polluting every river and most of the seas in England. We can't prosecute the people who burned 72 people alive at Grenfell. But if you inconvenience the people selling weapons to commit Genocide. We can.
