I think the definition of mental illness has changed since you & I were young, Charlie. It used to be a more or less permanent label. You "had" schizophrenia or whatever. Now it can mean something permanent, but it's also used for passing depression & so forth. Just like bodily illness. #TheArchers

I still like alcohol, but I drink it rarely and I no longer drink it till I'm buzzing. I guess I got too healthy or something. Now my body says, "Don't poison me!" when I drink. So I don't.

It's really not fun. I think what's fun is relaxing, playing, doing things that don't stress us out but make us feel more alive. For many reasons we often find (or learn to find) that it's easier to do all that with alcohol. That's where the fun comes in. But it isn't the booze that makes it so. 1/2

How interesting. I should be more curious about the changing world of charges. At one time, Vancity didn't have fees for folk on Disability, but I believe that changed several years ago. I've graduated to Old Age pension now. I've only gotten a credit card in the last year.

IIRC, it started well before that. She distrusted his relationship with Carol from the start. Some of it is protectiveness, some jealousy, guilt, or whatever, but some seems like basic distrust of both Carol and other people, and an over-controlling nature. IMHO. #TheArchers

Ooh, rats. I love them, but preferably not in my dwelling. It sounds like a great working holiday. A few short years ago (6?) a lovely woman from Scotland did the same thing (in Vancouver), and toddled off with my nephew. He's married and living in Edinburgh now.

TBH, I don't use these things because I don't trust them. I have heard of incidents where they have recorded what people have said. Between accidental issues and malicious apps, I just don't feel safe having so-called smart things around me. Your anecdote is unnerving.

I didn't think she lived in Ambridge. I thought she just swooped in now and then to hassle/take care of Carol. My belief and hope is that once she's done sorting out the house, she'll be gone. #TheArchers

Anna rewriting history, I suppose as most of us do. It didn’t make her happy that he was spending time with her mother; she was angry with him half the time. I think she’s a drip. Of course, my heart goes out to anyone who’s grieving like that, but this is not a new behaviour for her. #TheArchers

Ever since I was a child I’ve been told that I should drink 8 glasses of water a day. But no one ever explains what size of glass we’re talking about. Shot glass? Tumbler? Pint glass? I’m pretty sure I’ve got the eight shot glasses covered. I think. 🤷🏻‍♀️ (The glass emojis mostly have alcohol. No💧. 🧐)

When I say that I feel old, you must bear in mind that I’ve been alive for 1 million years. Actually 1,000,070. I know this, though I was surprised to realise it, b/c when I was young the dinosaurs had been dead for 65 million years. But now they’ve been dead for 66 million years. 🦕🧐

Young vets are trained to rely on this expensive technology and to do everything to the Gold standard but I think it’s wrong. A good enough standard of care that owners can afford should be the goal not trying to be the same as human Drs you should be taught to deliver budget care too #TheArchers
