I was gonna take a break from Thief after Deadly Shadows at one point to do other stuff, but I'm lowkey addicted to Thief and Thief II rn. Played through T2X and now I'm going through marbleman's "Thief: The Black Parade Lore Missions" playlist and just playing all of them before TBP

i wish i was good at actually talking and engaging in niche game communities (and also not intimidated/put off by them) bc im dying to talk about thief and fan missions with people lol

Thief (III:) Deadly Shadows - 2004 - 7.5/10 Garrett and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week Messy and compromised, but it features some brilliant moments and ultimately still satisfies as the end of this Trilogy. backloggd.com/u/Madsindy/r...

for a studio so heavily associated with the color green, its funny every ion storm austin game was so blue

Deus Ex: Invisible War - 2003 - 5.0/10 White girl from Chicago wipes out the human species as we know it for a 40% discount from Russian cyborgs. (Using the JP cover because the normal cover is fucking awful) backloggd.com/u/Madsindy/r...

you can tell a highly annoyed german wrote this

000

okay just got to the germany level and everything is in german so nvm that explanation is out the window. i mean its fucking terrible fake german and everytime they say "panzerwerks" i die laughing but. you know.

Gothic Maddie @madsindy.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Playing Deus Ex: Invisible War and to show that the WTO makes everyone speak english i guess in the Cairo level instead of any arabic text they just have english in like. an arabic-esque font and it kills me

I can sit down and write 10 pages of video game reviews in a week, but any time i try to motivate myself back into writing one of the many pieces of fiction I've started my brain starts running around looking for the plug to pull

Deus Ex - 2000 - 9.5/10 - Replay "Human beings may not be perfect, but a computer program with language synthesis is hardly the answer to the world's problems." my anti gen-AI king backloggd.com/u/Madsindy/r...

Gothic Maddie @madsindy.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

i say watch them, even the terrible episodes at least give wider context. Plus Q Who and Measure of a Man are required viewing for anyone watching TNG so.

since this is going around. not my favorite games *ever* for the most part, but definitely the ones that shaped what im into the most

010

Thief II: The Metal Age - 2000 - 10/10 Our Age of Metal is Collapsing. One man sets out to destroy Palantir security systems and stop a guy who makes Peter Thiel look normal. Oh and he also robs a bank. at this point I've written an essay on T1 and T2. oops! backloggd.com/u/Madsindy/r...

That doesnt mean its a legitimate thing thing that has to be taken seriously. People love to laugh (rightfully) at conservatived effectively getting "one guyed" into the stratosphere, but its not just chuds who fall into it. and its just a waste of time and energy. literally "bigger fish to fry"

000

i have this theory that for any random goofy opinion, you will find someone militant of that opinion. classic example is finding someone one time who 100% sincerely believed in forcible gender transitions for all men, like the strawman conservatives make up to get mad at.

100

but as someone with a very small number of eyes on me, i think its disingenous to say a small account making a dumb hot take is equivalent to some like, big account with people who take them seriously saying something stupid or harmful

Wattsy @wattsyart.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

trying to write a post about social media's propensity to elevate people with small following's "Goofy Opinions" as actual relevent and important to "debunk" instead of just... some random guy saying goofy shit, but it keeps coming across as "small follower count = you are unimportant"

Gobsmacked it’s been 8 years since #LAbyNight began. 🤯 Eternally grateful to @vampiresnvino.bsky.social for bringing me in as Eva all those years ago. It’s been a priceless treasure connecting with those who’ve watched & shared what it’s meant to them. Thank you #Vamily & HAPPY 8 YEARS LA by Night!!

2 Samus~👽👽 small note taking for when drawing my Samus. I love how she looked in Fusion, covering her eye so I always keep that in mind #Metroid #メトロイド #MetroidRavenous #MetroidPrime4

2 Samus takes for when I draw her. I like the idea of mainline Samus having fluffier hair~
