#AEWGrandSlam got me flashing back to junior year Homecoming. I'm the mime...I thought I was wearing a fuck ass beret but apparently not.

A picture from October 1999 - a French themed float for Homecoming...there's a cardboard Eiffel Tower on the roof of the truck and a French cafe in the bed of it with a couple students sitting at the table. And as quickly as they came together they fell apart. It's a fun story with lots of great lines and funny moments AND a catchy as fuck song. It's one of my favorite movies and I find it incredibly comforting. So there.

Maybe it's not a particularly deep story; it doesn't have to be. TB Player not having a name is funny AND proves a point that in a band some people are just...replaceable. Guy and Jimmy are both talented musicians but make great foils to each other. Lenny's just happy to be there.

I feel like this article doesn't give the movie enough credit. Yes, you hear the song multiple times, but you only ever hear it from start to finish twice - at the talent show and at the Hollywood Showcase - and the film does a great job showing how the song and band evolve in whirlwind fashion.
