The book asks how nostalgic attachments can connect anger, melancholy, hatred, joy, shame, and pride. Be those attachments to SF, a supposedly "lost" culture, or both. Along the way, I look at fanzines from the 30s–90s, PuppyGate, The Last Jedi, Mass Effect, and The Last of Us.

Publication day! My book, Nostalgic Futures: The Reactionary Fantasies of Speculative Fiction Fandoms (rutgersupress.bsky.social), is officially out! It grew from a graduate seminar paper on PuppyGate into a book examining how nostalgia connects fan controversies to wider culture wars.
