I look at it this way, even if we impeach Trump we still have Vance and the rest of this clown show to deal with. Careful, strategic policies may be for the best in the long run. Impeaching Trump is still a short term solution sadly, it will not solve the problem on its own.

I dunno, I kind of agree with him a little but not because I'm opposed to a Trump impeachment. Remember we still have a huge MAGA influence dismantle and passing reforms first may not be entirely a bad idea before even talking about impeachment.

And look I understand the hate for GenAI, but LLM's themselves as a concept can be salvaged as its built on technology that has existed long before GenAI was a thing. We had the building blocks for LLM's for years.

Yes but it doesn't have to be this way, I mean machine learning has a similar need for external data yet many don't raise red flags as machine learning AI models are ethically trained and doesn't have the datacenter issue.

Still LLM's are nothing new, it's the training and execution that matters and not the underlying tech. I will not deny the harm of GenAI and how it's trained, but the concept of LLM's have been around for a while and it's a shame the current models are what they are.

Well this claim somewhat tracks as some of the open weight models are going this route. Deepseek or Qwen for example are surprisingly lightweight as you don't need datacenters or high end hardware to run them and is why China is ahead in AI development.

Yes certainly can live without GenAI, sure I won't deny I found it sort of useful sometimes in my workflow but not enough to keep the data centers running.

In fact most of the base technologies of GenAI I don't have a beef with, it's all a matter of how they are trained and the resources they take is where my issue is. This is the only reason why I support localized open weight models, wont solve all the issues with GenAI but it's a start.

Correct, sure there are some similarities between GenAI and Machine learning but the approaches are different. This is why I don't entirely hate LLM's as a concept as it has many commonalities with machine learning on how they can be trained.

Well phone numbers are not really that remembered much anymore thanks to autodial and the like. Sure if you use a phone number a lot yeah it becomes ingrained in the brain but if its not something you bring up it's easy to forget.

I kind of get not knowing your phone number to a point as we don't call ourselves. I know it took me like a month or so to know my current phone number and that had nothing to do with AI. I just don't share my phone number that often🤷‍♂️

Strangely enough I'm on board with calling GenAI "Super intelligence" as that could help actual good AI technologies (like ones for medicine, machine learning, assistive AI and the like) not be associated with it anymore. GenAI is the millstone for the term AI.

Hey no worries, they piss me off too. Yes I currently have three main usual suspects, drugs, steroids, or heart condition but only because of my long time relationship with pro wrestling. However, if its drugs or steroids I place no condemnation as many of my favorite wrestlers died that way.

Yeah I get you, though personally I do wonder how he died and the possibilities are endless considering what has killed pro wrestlers in the past. But it's not my place to aimlessly speculate without evidence, yes one can present theories but there is a wrong and right way to do it.

Personally I liked Kong: Skull island and Godzilla king of the monsters (mainly for Mothra, Gidrah and Rodan) but Godzilla vs Kong was kinda meh though its technically better than the Showa version

Again I feel I must reiterate that capitalism in its current state sucks hard. It's only benefited a small handful of rich oligarchs who profit on fear, hate, and stupidity. Yes communism sucks too and we seen what it can do. But there has to be something better than what we have somewhere.

I also think big corporate consolidations and mergers should be outlawed. I also think there can be a balance between private corparations and goverment ownership. This includes argriculture, medicine, industry and public welfare programs. I am not pro big governement mind you, screw that.
