LUNA @luna-aphasia.bsky.social · 15/05/2026
We’re so excited to join Bluesky with LUNA - our research project exploring language and narrative in aphasia. We’ll be sharing updates, findings, events, and opportunities to collaborate. Please follow us, and check out our newly redesigned project website: blogs.city.ac.uk/luna/
The LUNA logo features an open book in purple, with its pages gently spread. From the book, purple and red dots and sparks emerge, symbolising imagination, creativity, and the unfolding of stories. The design represents a celebration of storytelling.

We're increasingly ensuring that dissemination is a standalone workpackage in our grants. Work led by the team in Leicester during our NIHR PGfAR resulted in the GuiDiR dissemination framework, which provides a structure for dissemination activities : www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

This special issue was put together to diversify the currently available #aphasia literature and to achieve more cross-cultural and cross-linguistic representation in aphasia research. This is important since most aphasia research is predominantly representative of the English speaking world! 3/4

The dara project is looking for adults (>18yrs) with #aphasia or developmental language disorder #DLD to take part research. We are exploring how people with communication needs use visual information. If you'd like to take part, we'd love to hear from you!
Information sheet requesting research participation for Project dara. It says:

"The Dara project 'Exploring Information' is looking for adults with Aphasia or Developmental Language Disorder' to explore visualisations." It goes on to explain "About the research" (data visualization for everyday decision making); "What will happen" (language assessment and diary exercise); and "Why this research is important" (existing research in data visualization doesn't consider language needs).

If you are interested please contact Niamh.devane.2@city.ac.uk for more information.

Today is #WorldStrokeDay. Our new EPSRC-funded Dara project is investigating and creating inclusive data visualization to support personal decision-making for people with communication impairments, including those with aphasia after stroke. www.city.ac.uk/news-and-eve...
Screenshot of the first Dara advisory committee zoom call. 13 people are shown smiling at the camera from different Zoom windows. In the largest speaker view shot, 6 people are seated around a meeting table. The Dara logo comprising the word 'dara' and a green oak leaf is shown in the bottom left corner. Everyone looks happy.
