New temporary outdoor sculpture. AI can’t do this :)

Did a field work trip with uni today and the assignment was to create temporary installations in the woods with art you made on site. I made cyanotype using my body and dead ferns and brambles, then hung them from the trees.
Picture of trees and grass. Between the two closest trees hangs a branch with a large fabric cyanotype print of a curled up body in brambles. Between far trees hangs another fabric cyanotype of a body. Cyanotype print on fabric suspended between two trees. It is of a body with ferns layered over the head. Close up of cyanotype print of hands and an arm. Closeup of the cyanotype with ferns layering and around a head.

Even the rocks on the beach are experiencing existential horror these days.

I accidentally exposed a Cyanotype backwards and now I have a giant backwards American flag and somehow that feels poetic.

If you see this, don't participate. It's a rigged study by Lisa Littman and unethical researcher J. Michael Bailey meant to undermine access to care. Spread the word.
“Screenshot of a promoted Reddit post by u/AYAGDOS. The post reads: ‘Navigating gender dysphoria? Join our confidential, cross-country study of 18–25 year olds to tell your story, challenge preconceptions, and have YOUR experience reflected in the science.’ Below is a banner graphic with the Northwestern University logo and the text ‘TRANS OR GENDERQUEER? SHARE YOUR STORY.’ The image shows a close-up of a hand with light pink nail polish, partially painted blue, held up against a blurred background. Finished the welds on this piece. Next steps are to do some cleanup and then play with rusting. I’m really enjoying learning to work with metal.

Cutting out text for possible sketch/notebook titles that are completely unrelated to content of the book, and the ones I cut out make a little poem
Cut out chapter titles arranged to say:
What’s the fizz?
Drip, drip, drip
Hard to get
Milk for galoshes
Can you?

At the HHS announcement yesterday announcing proposed rules to ban GAC, they said trans people are "at the root of the evils we face" and are "a hatred for nature as God designed it and for life as it was meant to be lived.” Just in case you thought it was about concerns for proper healthcare.

It's a whole of government effort to eradicate trans people from society. This is just the first step. They're coming for all of us.

I am not seeing many people talk about this with everything else in the news right now. This bill is predicted to die in the senate, but that it passed the house is a sign that trans people need cis allies to step up and fight against this. We need your loud full-throated support.

People need to understand just how openly genocidal the rhetoric on the far right is getting towards transgender people. They're openly talking about eradicating us and forcefully mass institutionalizing all trans people. These are people with direct ties to the Trump administration.
Screenshot of two tweets from Matt Walsh’s verified Twitter account (@MattWalshBlog).

First tweet (17 hours ago): “It’s time to have a national conversation about common sense restrictions on transgenders.” The tweet has 1.3K comments, 3.8K retweets, 42K likes, and 1M views.

Second tweet (18 hours ago): “It wasn’t all that long ago that anyone who identified as the opposite sex would be involuntarily committed to an insane asylum. Does anyone at this point seriously think that our current approach is an improvement?” The tweet has 666 comments, 1.9K retweets, 21K likes, and 362K views.First tweet is by Michael Knowles (@michaeljknowles), reposted by Christopher F. Rufo. It reads: “For the good of society and especially for the good of the poor people who have fallen prey to this delusion, transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely—the whole preposterous ideology, at every level.” The tweet has 816 comments, 2.4K retweets, 17K likes, and 379K views.

Second tweet is by Christopher F. Rufo (@realchrisrufo), 20 hours ago: “The trans cult hatched such an enormous propaganda campaign, that, for a number of years, they were able to obscure an obvious truth: pumping kids full of synthetic hormones, while telling them they can change from boy to girl, will only end in tragedy or disaster.” The tweet has 878 comments, 1.5K retweets, 9.2K likes, and 120K views.

Third tweet is also by Christopher F. Rufo, 20 hours ago: “We should now put to rest the libertarian delusion that transgenderism is a matter of ‘personal choice,’ or ‘live and let live.’ It’s an ideology that has done grave damage to millions of Americans, and has unleashed a nihilistic wave of violence on our society. Enough.” The tweet has 921 comments, 1.5K retweets, 9.6K likes, and 293K views.

My landlord came by with fresh tomatoes from his garden and apples from the trees, so tonight’s pasta is sauce from scratch and my husband has promised to bake an apple cake. Sharing food from one’s garden feels like such an incredible act of caring to me.

Mixed media works by David Lynch, 2000s-2020s. RIP.
Sepia-toned painting of a figure holding a lit match over a simplified drawing of a house, car, and tree trunk with a large pinecoe, against a background of line dashes. Handwritten text overlays the image: "I burn Pinecone throw in your house"An alien-like creature with multiple long arms/tentacles reaching upward sits against a textured white background. In the sky floats a small dark-haired human face over a black circle.Grayscale composition of a white woman standing in an open window of a tall, narrow cement tower, over a black ground and white sky. A drawing of a giraffe stands behind the tower next to a gray pickup truck. In small handwriting the text " Woman's Dream" floats in the sky.A semi-abstract figure covered in spiky, mottled textures and a striped sweater stands against a blank background between a small picket fence and small silhouette of a house. In small handwriting the text " I was A teenage Insect" floats in the sky.

One of the strangest parts of long covid is the affect on smell. After 1.5 years I still have hyposmia and parosmia and sometimes phantosmia. For the past 3 weeks I have been smelling matches almost constantly but if I lit a match, I wouldn’t be able to smell it.
