And, just like that, Foghorn contributes to one of the greatest self owns in the history of mankind, by assisting Schmitt in proving just how stupid MAGA really is.

Stumbled across this today, as I was walking to a store. Not sure if this is truly random debris, or a modern day artistic statement about the state of mankind.

Spent the past week in Galicia, Spain and an overnight stop in Segovia. Two tips: do not overlook a trip to Cies (island off of Vigo) and Segovia (stunningly beautiful and with an aqueduct built in 1-2 AD that still stands.

Over 5 years ago when we moved from New Orleans to Seville, we did not know a single person. Last night, we went to a concert in a castle, and the musical group dedicated a song to us. I’ve made a ton of mistakes in my life. Moving to Seville is one of the best decisions.

This is how far gone the US and the state of Texas are. At a GOP convention in Houston, an AA woman, with a MAGA hat, telling a Muslim woman that she needs to leave the US. The ignorance, the racism, the lack of any humanity is what has swallowed large portions of the country.

In the almost 6 years we have been in Seville, we have seen 2 New Orleans’ music events that we would have never seen had we continued to live in NO. One was last night. 50 person choir performing NO rnb classics.

Finally got the photos that I mentioned yesterday, in a shareable format. 20 years old in these. Taken at a party on the last day of a summer job, 1980. Coincidentally, party was held at my mother’s families’ bar/restaurant (that ain’t there no mo).
Photo of me in the foreground. Me on the far right (only time in my life someone can say that about me). Me holding the phone- probably my grandmother calling from next door complaining about the noise.

Zen, 2. Ran into a friend last week who also loves Brazilian music and told her about a show that 2 other friends were having last night. She shows up and 2 songs in she’s hooked, and starts texting other friends to come. They in turn show and also keep the text train going. Had a sold out house!

Morning zen. Played tourist yesterday, and after living in Seville for 4 years, we explored the Catedral. Its a tad gaudy, but still impressive and thankfully, neither the Moors or the Catholics destroyed the work of the others.

My buddy, Max (on the leash) toward the end of his 21 year life. We then lived close to Bayou St John, and he struck a friendship with a dog we would see almost daily. Odd, because he never expressed any interest in any living thing beside my wife and me.

Morning and afternoon zen. Photo of a horse carriage from this afternoon. Féria started last night (week long celebration of Sevilliano culture) and horse carriages play a prominent t role. And, last night’s jazz session at Gallo was such a great performance.

Sweet vocals courtesy of a Polish and Italian singer at the jazz jam. Lovis G- such a phenomenal talent. Force of nature disguised as a jazz vocalist. Even the pianist’s girlfriend got into the act (and, wow, she can sing!).
