Ooo that's actually smart if the manufacturer has a website to sell from. Items on Amazon are often knockoffs anyway. Bought an Atlas grinder for my dad some time ago and the one on Amazon was def a fake and glad I didn't bite. For only $10 less he could have ground metal shards in our food.

Yeah and that's a HUGE problem, and how sad it is, that we can't even imagine having a better more in depth discussion with our own representatives about what would ACTUALLY help us. I completely agree. Especially when there ARE things that have helped in other countries we could look to.

Exactly. The "ban" (which isn't really a ban but a demand for control) isn't helping with the larger problem whatsoever and is just harming people reliant on said platform to connect to potential customers and advertise their goods/art, or even just for a safe(r) community, in the process.

I'm not saying we shouldn't solve problems but a blanket and sudden ban of something that shouldn't have kids on it anyways while ignoring all the other harmful (for many many reasons) social media platforms is not a solution.

And I think you're underestimating how little some people (individuals) and businesses can have. That website requires design, maintenance, moderation, and for many the ability to reach the same kind of engagement with a community (like showing how you made the painting you're putting up for sale).

How else would a non-profit school with no income for maintaining its own forums be able to get events and information out to its students/supporters, many of whom are not tech savvy? I'm genuinely asking because this reliance and lack of finding alternatives has been a huge problem for them.
